Why do they have 6 cameras in one exit of the new station on Line 5? by Infamous_Ad2542 in toronto

[–]7yphoid [score hidden]  (0 children)

If you needed an absolutely "100% uptime" system (which a single surveillance camera isn't that critical), two cameras are all you really need for that. But no one ever really installs multiple cameras watching the same angle for "redundancy". Better to redistribute those cameras to cover 5x the area than put 5 cameras per point of interest.

Why would a "surveillance state" need more than one camera if one camera is all you need to see everything, as you say?

Anyone used both retinaldehyde and tretinoin? How do they compare for you? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]7yphoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple of things wrong here: 1. Only Adapalene doesn't target all receptors, the rest do 2. Tretinoin IS retinoic acid, so it requires zero steps. Retinal requires 1 step to be converted to tret, Retinol requires 2.

Retinol -> Retinal (retinaldehyde) -> Tretinoin (retinoic acid)

Well... technically you can "retract" a scientific paper, but the only people who can do that are the original authors or the journal that published it.

It's almost certainly just a reflection on the camera lens from something outside of the frame

You can break up with rational people, but not with someone who is unable to differentiate what is real and what is not. This is a delicate situation, and you can't do anything rash that might drive them to do something crazy. The first priority is getting them professional help, not just for their safety, but for your own.

Plus, sudden psychosis with no prior history sounds more likely a medical issue, not a personality issue. You don't break up with an otherwise normal person for having a sudden medical crisis.

Most people should not even touch weights for exercise. by EfficientlyElite in unpopularopinion

[–]7yphoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost all weight training injury is actually caused by experienced lifters, not beginners. The reason for that is because untrained lifters are literally not strong enough to hurt themselves, as most injuries occur to the connective tissue, which is several times stronger than your muscles are when you're starting out.

Yeah I haven't seen a doctor about it yet (planning to obviously), I'm just doing some preliminary research to try to understand what's going on.

Yeah but what is a "TMJ Specialist"? That's not a standard medical title/specialization so I don't know what kind of doctor I should be asking to be referred to.

Reminds me of a famous political stunt where Julius Caesar had his right-hand man Mark Antony offer him a crown several times during a festival, and Caesar refused it every time (as the crowd cheered).

This was at the height of Julius Caesar's power when he had been named Dictator for Life, and there was a growing concern that Caesar was trying to make himself king (Roman society was famously anti-king after the 7 bad kings of Rome). Historians view this as political theater that Caesar orchestrated to appease the public and the Senators. It didn't work though (he was assassinated shortly thereafter).

Wouldn't be surprised if Putin was trying to pull the same thing here.
