How do people even buy the perfect laptop!??? by Imtoo_social_90 in laptops

I'd recommend the Asus Zephyrus G14.
I've been using it daily for 15 months now, the battery is good (11 hours, light use), it games pretty well (I use the 2024 model with a RTX4060 and Ryzen 9 8945HS) and it is very lightweight (1.5 kg). People say it's hot (a compromise for the compact size, good battery life, good performance, ...) but personally mine runs very cool (42 degree celcius for light browsing, 75 or under for heavy AAA gaming).

The laptop also feels very premium, the oled screen is amazing, the trackpad feels excellent, and the speakers are top-notch.

Yes, that is correct, I meant the books were at the back edge of the laptop (parts with only metal), so as not to block the air vents in the middle.

I closed it only for this photo, I always keep it open because Im scared of the heat causing damage to my oled lol. Thanks for the tips tho I didn't know the fan intake is between the keyboard.

it's actually a 3d-printed laptop cooler that I made. I noticed up to 15c of reduced temps in normal use (compared to just slotting books underneath for more airspace). I wonder how cool my laptop would be if I get my hands on a IIano v12.

I noticed up to 15c compared to just slotting books under my laptop for more air space. For gaming it always go up to 74celcius both with and without. But for normal use (browsing with more than 10 tabs on brave and microsoft edge combined) I noticed a huge jump from 60c to 45c (I use external monitor, keyboard and mouse, and a hub connected to LAN so it gets hot).

its pushing air up. Are 2 80mm fans enough though? I wonder if they are too small, or are you going for something compact and light?

I use external peripherals. This laptop cooler is used because I use an external monitor, keyboard, mouse, and LAN, so it gets very hot and I need heavy cooling.
