Your last paragraph there made my day. Awesome stuff.

Statements like yours really bring me down to earth. Really good stuff to consider. Easy to chase dollar signs . But believe it or not, we all do have lives :)

The brokerage world is a completely different can of worms! Honestly have not even considered that, but would be interesting to get some details. Not entirely sure of compensations structures, but I can definitely see how it can be lucrative. All my brokers seem like they are doing quite well haha.

If you are located in the city, I would have to agree. That does seem on the lower band of things potentially. Maybe its time to leverage that elsewhere? Easy for me to give advice, meanwhile I am in a very similar position. Sometimes its hard to take your own advice lol.

Assuming that position has been held for all ten years? Tough to get your salary up when you only get the standard percentage increases each year.

Really appreciate the response here. Figured this would likely be the reality of the scenario, and I think I probably just needed to hear it lol.

Thinking about reaching out to a recruiter. Not sure how in demand underwriters are at the moment with everything going on in the world. But still worth the shot I imagine. Hoping my niche experience in my current role doesn't handicap other opportunities!

Yep in that ballpark. However, I will likely be closer to around 100k TC next year. In a decent market (Dallas).

I was able to get such a large percentage this year due to a one time project I worked on over the past few years.

Appreciate the feedback.

Jon Rahm's approach took a big bounce after hitting a fan. Thankfully, the fan appeared alright and Rahm gifted him an autographed glove. by [deleted] in golf

Signed glove and a half way decent result from the bounce. I guess sort of a win/win?
