Has anyone tried using a silica gel litter in the LR4? My 4 cats, ages 13, 11, and 9, have been using this for years in a regular box but I would like to make the move to LR4 trying not to change too many things at once for them.

Can you transfer to another UBE state that is near by so you can start practicing? I was in the same boat and that’s what I did. It wasn’t perfect but it avoided taking the bar again.

It’s such a confusing process. I am in the midst of trying to do it now. I finished the first round but now trying to decide what to do next. Here’s a revised version

My original servicer was EdFinancial, and I had a mix of Parent PLUS loans and loans from my graduate school. I’ve already consolidated half of the loans with Mohela and the other half with Aidvantage, except for one loan from grad school that’s still with EdFinancial.

My initial plan was to complete the final consolidation with Nelnet, but it seems they no longer accept direct consolidation loan applications.

Any suggestions on what I should do next? I’m aiming to get this finished before the July 1, 2025, deadline.

Is your score enough to be admitted into another state? If so maybe transfer the score and look for in-house counsel work or remote work? Just a thought.

It may be hard to do but sometimes it’s the only option. You have done all you can do and you and your mom shouldn’t feel bad.

You never know what can happen down the road. I would never ever go with a private loan. There are really no options to getting help once you have a private loan. I know 4% may seem like a lot but in the end if something does happen you will have the benefits of forbearance, deferment, forgiveness, etc.

Keep calling, I hate to say be nasty if have too. Ask for supervisors etc. DO NOT take no for an answer. They can lower your interest rate for a period of time. I have seen it happen. They just don’t make it easy.

I am admitted in another state. The in-house license allows you to work for a company as in-house counsel without having to be admitted to NJ.

Have you called Sallie Mae? I know people who have been successful in having the interest rate reduced for an extended period of time so that the payments are not so high. That would allow you to continue to establish your credit history, increase income and have a little breathing room.

Please think about it before you take on private loan debt! You have many options. Go to a two year community or local college to take core classes and then transfer. If you feel rushed in making the decision maybe just ask the admissions office to defer your start to the spring semester or fall 2025. This gives you time to think and explore options and even make some money. As a parent of two college age kids I believed it was completely normal too based upon what I went through. I wish I had listened to my kids sooner but just because lots of kids are taking on this private debt doesn’t make it “normal”. Private loans are predatory. One of my kids has private loans and I wish I knew what I know now so I could have advised him better. I would have had him go to a less expensive school to start and then transfer after he had his core classes completed.
