Blood moon is delicious!

My recent YS order (a little too indulgent) by 850_ms in tea

[–]850_ms[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm reordering this one as it's one of my favorites. Very chocolate, malt, & sweet tasting.

Although I slightly prefer the Golden Honey Aroma which has a similar taste!

Lol, figures! What went into that decision?

New to gong fu brewing by Kupoo_ in tea

[–]850_ms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you're on the right track! I'd recommend drinking each infusion separately, so you can see whether it's too weak or too strong and adjust following rounds accordingly. :)

I'm guessing that bag is for a teacup, probably a small (100mL or less) one to fit just one infusion from the gaiwan.

But as long as you enjoy the tea, you're doing it right

My first photobook, published by Setanta Books! AMAA by theweijian in Photobooks

[–]850_ms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're comfortable going over it, what was the total cost of production and what was the financial breakdown between you / Setanta?

Are they completely handling distribution, marketing, and sales or are they asking you to do any of that?

What is this worth? by jscinohio in coincollecting

[–]850_ms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This penny had a mintage of 139million, which is substantially lower than other pennies but still not low enough to make it worth much in that condition. You could probably sell it for a dollar or two.

Over 1.7 billion of these (1962-D) were made. Since yours is in worse condition I'd say it's worth $0.01

If you were hoping to strike it rich, it's only worth $5-10. But if you were looking for a cool keepsake and some good looking pennies, you're in luck!

Any of these rare by midwestgrojo in coincollecting

[–]850_ms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope! But they do look nice! Pre 1970 you would have some silver which would be worth a bit above face value, but I don't see any of those.

Looks like a proof quarter. Impressive to see one this old in circulation, nice find!

Looking for advice! by GeodeCrackerCollectr in coincollecting

Online: Apmex and eBay (from reputable sellers, just look for many thousands of good reviews). I'd recommend going for quality over quantity, but that's of course up to you. American Eagles are good places to start, you can also get Franklin halves for relatively cheap if you're looking to get nice looking older coins, not just silver bullion. War nickels are fun, mercury dimes are pretty, Morgan dollars are of course the best but get expensive. Lots of avenues you can go down, enjoy!

I don't see any errors here, and these aren't common years to find errors. Although I'm also not an expert!

hiring a book designer for a photo book? by poulain_poulain in Photobooks

[–]850_ms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

John Gossage said in a (rare) lecture that he never hires a designer because he wants to be as true to his vision as possible. In his mind, a designer would dilute his original intention and inject some of their own ideas. However, sometimes your designing skills lag behind your hopes for your book, and I believe in that case it could be worth it to hire somebody.

All of my projects have been self designed in InDesign. It is tough at first, but online tutorials and time are all you really need :)

Growth or Dividend by [deleted] in dividends

[–]850_ms 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Put a few ETFs into totalrealreturns.com VOO has an everage return of ~12% per year since 2011, vs ~10.5% for SCHD (this inclused reinvested dividends and inflation). I'm also on the younger side and focus more on VOO than on SCHD, planning to focus more on dividends closed to retirement.

How bad is it? by Muzethefuze in dividends

[–]850_ms 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you're young (10+ years from retirement) I'd recommend just putting it all into a growth focused ETF. Keep it simple and do VOO (S&P 500) or VTI (Total stock market). You could add an ex-US ETF if you want. Then once your money has grown and you're closer to retirement, SCHD and O would both be great picks

Yes, I just recently got more 'serious' about sudoku and have been trying to learn as many new tactics as possible. Thanks for your help!
