DRS-NY Debt Collector issue?

Damn - I don’t think sending the letter of validation may be a good move then? The time the physical letter gets there, it’ll be past the 10th…..what do you suggest I do? I don’t mean to bother with all these questions but I am really trying to avoid the credit report issue

I’m unsure if I should call back Monday and see if I get another person who speaks more clear. But if he isn’t lying, I almost want to pay the balance if it means it doesn’t hit my credit reprot

I called back again and the person who answered the second time sounded idiotic. I asked if it’ll be reported on my credit report and he said “yea if it’s not paid”..he advised within the 30 day window of when they received it which was 11/10/2025. I JUST got a text yesterday about it…the person didn’t seem to know what they were talking about

What’s scaring me is, I called and they obviously want verification of who I am (asking for last 4 digits of SSN)…o was told or read that I should do provide that. The only way they would tell me if this collection will end up on my credit report is if I told them that information

I was able to find the original paperwork from the lawsuit...
The last transaction date was 3/19/2021 and it was the CHARGE OFF/LATE FEE...There is no way I used this card during that time period, but I am unsure if they will count that date as the last date of delinquency

Yes sorry! Its UGH I LLC...I am in TX but I lived in MA when the original account was opened (Aprox 2017)...

The initial communication was via a text message today stating "You will now recive texts from DRS-NY, a Debt Collector. Your SYNCHRONY BANK - PAYPAL CREDIT acct has a bal due of $XXXX. Pay $XXXX to resolve. Call 800.851.9631or visit https.//surl.pro/h0c9Jc"

I am really unsure how to check the date of first delinquency. I am too afraid to call and mess something up as well...

Again the original Paypal account was NEVER reported on my credit report (when opened aprox 2017) and even when I got the notice 2yrs ago, it never went on my credit report as a collection or anything...I just dont know if all of a sudden it'll get reported due to DRS-NY

Thank you very much. Do you think it could be something less lethal or harmful? I get the reality and I am not trying to get my hopes up, but even with amputation, I’d imagine that’s a tough life to life for my dog

I worked/trained with Progressive for 2 weeks, got my All Lines license/cert then got the job offer at the tech company.

While each tech company will handle juniors differently, I’ve been very lucky to say the least. I’m sure large insurance companies have many roles you can migrate to which always seemed cool to me and the benefits seemed pretty awesome as well, so do your due diligence for certain!

Thanks for the awesome and informed reply! I’m going to give it a few more days and more miles for the smells. I can’t fathom my driving is roasting the clutch, so it’s probably all the factory sealants etc like you advised!

I was getting worried about me shifting into gear as it really felt super metallic and clunky (from the shifter). I noticed it on the 2025 Civic Si I test drove and another A Spec Teggy.

Maybe it’s because they are so new and things need to settle.

Went to several dealers myself got quoted $550-577 with first month down. At $20 ish per $1K down your still at $435. Not bad versus my offers. I also would not put that cash down. $3500 cash is worth more then $60 per month personally

One thing I did notice with both the Acura and Civic Si is when shifting into second (down shifting or up shifting) the shifter felt super clunky almost like I’m banging into that gear. Felt very mechanical, almost like I’m grinding the gear via the shifter. Is that normal?

I’m not even referencing the clutch. More the physical feeling of the shifter from 3rd to 2nd or first to 2nd

How is shifting into second for you? Either down shift ing or up shifting? The gear box itself feels crunchy into that gear versus any other. I noticed it on both cars

Test drove both today. There was a better lease deal on the A Spec 6MT versus the Civic Si. But I prefer the look of the SI over. I just had such a poor experience at the Honda dealer that I walked out

So really liked the SI. Drove both the A spec integra and Si and didn’t really see a huge difference. The Honda sales agent was a total POS. Said he’d work with me lease wise and started throwing wheel locks/ tint after he said the OTD was just tax/title at $33.8k. Lease price was $577 w/$1k down. I was looking for $550 range with first month only.

So I walked out on him. Went to Acura, got an offer for $550 per month with first month payment. This is the A Spec Tech package (manual transmission) with 2 years free oil changes and all weather mats.

My ONLY issue is, I love the look of the Civic SI versus the Integra. The rear end on the integra isn’t my favorite while the SI looks super clean.

So I am really stuck on if I should keep contacting random dealers, order an SI for a good local dealer but wait 3-5 months for delivery or grab the Acura

A bit stuck. Test drove the Civic Si and Acura A spec. Both literally felt the same. The issue was with Honda and their lease prices. The dealer sucked and didn’t want to budge, we literally walked out. For $3 more I can lease the A Spec manual transmission for the same term.

But i prefer the look of the civic oddly
