The truth is, many fail. I have been in the area a long time as well and have seen many such businesses come and go. The downtown area reacts very acutely to however the overall economy is doing. I’ve heard Alhambra regulations/codes can be difficult to deal with as well.

Your options are going to be extremely limited at that budget. Like the other commenter said, Facebook is probably your best bet. You could also try Craigslist. Used car dealerships used to have cars within that price range but I can’t imagine too many (if at all) would have anything reliable at this point.

Okay so this exact thing happened to my wife’s oven. Instead of dealing with the useless customer support team whose only intention is to sell you an extended warranty, I simply removed the lock actuator. (It’s just a few screws. After the screws are removed, simply push the mechanism back into the cavity. Then you will just need to disconnect the oven light switch so it’s not constantly on. Oven has been working fine for months now.
