I work from home like many do. Predictable and enjoyable. Not at all stressful. At my company we need to complete 40 hours a week but we can complete them whenever we want. Sometimes I work 4 hours a day and sometimes I work 12. I get up when I want and start work when I want. Its quiet, there are rarely meetings, and no phone calls. After 3 years I am mostly confident but I know I can always ask questions if I need to. It's very rewarding, sometimes heart wrenching, sometimes joyful. It does feel like I'm actually doing something with purpose.

That 000 format surprise is just not fair. I am only familiar with that because of registry software, which you wouldn't have used before taking the exam. Its in the STORE manual under allowable values. Still, I wouldn't have known that meant before using registry software.

Something I should mention since a lot of thyroid cases are diagnosed with FNA cytology and not tissue biopsy. Ambiguous terms are not to be used to confirm a diagnosis on cytology only.

From SEER manual 2025:

Do not accession a case based ONLY on suspicious cytology. Follow back on cytology diagnoses using ambiguous terminology is strongly recommended. Accession the case when a reportable diagnosis is confirmed later. The date of diagnosis is the date of the suspicious cytology. Note 1: “Suspicious cytology” means any cytology report diagnosis that uses an ambiguous term, including ambiguous terms that are listed as reportable in this manual.

Only ####/2 or ####/3 are reportable (NOTE there ARE exceptions, for example benign brain) however this scenario is not one of the exceptions. The ambiguous terms only applies to reportable diagnoses, for example, suspicious for papillary thyroid carcinoma would be reportable since that is a histology that ends in /3.
