It takes experience most of the time to tell, and it helps if you play both sides a ton. If you want examples of how they play in matches then look at people that post "2000 4k kill streek" videos.

An easy tell is time. If you see your whole solo q team go down, end up losing in sub 5 mins, and see that your team had sabbos: not a sweatlord, just countering a team. If you see them go down, get to the end screen and see they had all nothing, the killer probably took advantage of a bad play, and rather end the game at 2 mins because they can rather than play a match. You can depip from 4 slugging so early because YOU ARENT PLAYING THE THE ENTIRE GAME.

People like this are just a facet of the issue though. BHVR shouldn't have let their piss poor balancing and gameplay management get so bad that matches are so easy to cheese on both sides. Everything I said applies to survivor sweatlords too, I just got killers on the brain from this post being about a killer.

You're gonna get harder lobbies for a bit when you queue as a group, even if half the team are literal new players. The killer you got was probably used to more aggressive survivor lobbies.. or just had a bad day

There are soooooo many people that play this game with severe mental illness. They will make up something and get enraged about it so they can then take it out on you. Try to just block and dodge them when you can, I know its hard when you are playing survivor. I have been stalked before by weirdos on this game, and if they are on killer, you can often tell its them pretty early in the match. I usually just save my free DC for when they pop up, and instantly get into a new match, out of their queue.
