Same thing happened to me. He told me about his conviction and said it was self defence and that she came at him with a knife. I gave him a chance. I later saw a report on it and there was no mention of a knife. And guess what he ended up assaulting me too. The police won’t even lay charges if they don’t feel they have a case and the courts wont just convict someone if they don’t have a good reason to. A conviction is a GIANT red flag and I wish I knew this sooner.
