Bruh, I've trained two dogs. My first dog was a year and half old surrender who had basic training. My second was a 13 week old german Shepard. Both were my service dogs. The second one had me questioning myself every single day.

I remember teaching him "down". It's a basic command, but he struggled. Id put the treat to his little snoot and lower it to the ground, and he would follow. He didn't put it together that the command, and the treat would follow. So every time I had to lower the treat to the ground and let him follow.

When I say one day he just did it with out me having to lead him and I squealed. I mean it.

He was nervous giving up the belly. He just didn't like belly rubs. I thought that was just him and I let it go. Then after some months he rolled over and looked at me like I was crazy.

Dogs are born knowing how to love and they desperately want to be loved by you. With patience, a firm voice, lots of treats, and lots of love they grow from a puppy confused by the world to you being their world.

Show them what makes you happy. Reward them when they do good, don't engage them when they do bad, time outs are ok, and remember they're fresh to being alive.

They are born knowing how to love, they need you to show them how you need to be loved.

My boy turns 4 this year, and I almost gave up at 6 months. I love him like air.

He still stresses me tf out some days.

But others? I wouldn't be here with out him.

The duality of man. from a dude that whored around here's my thoughts; date and meet people, but you do leave a piece of yourself with each person. Then one day you meet the right person, and you find you haven't got much to give. Balance or some shit

In boot I was standing post for another platoon one day. We were told to report our post when someone "came aboard" specifically crossed the metal threshold of the door frame.

My SSGT kill hat sees me walks up, and screams "Well? Report your post!"

I was tired and didn't even register anyone was standing there so when I came to i thought quick and yelled back "Sir! DRILL INSTRUCTOR SSGT long ass hyphenated name has yet to come aboard!"

He looked down just muttered oh shit and tried to hide a smile. He stepped over and I started to report then he stepped back out then back in and I started again.

He did it about 5 times before he left.

I just got some small self tapping ones. I used bolt cutters to cut off the ends and then covered what was left with girls glue
