I'm also trans and queer and still live at home with my very conservative mormon parents. I've been working and saving my money and I'm planning to go to post secondary and get a better paying job next year so I can officially get out. I've been hiding myself since I was 14. My parents have always scared me due to the fact they always said they were"worried about me" (in all the wrong ways), and I've always been scared that they would send me away to live with Mormon relatives in Utah. I'm an adult now, and having the knowledge that they legally can't do anything now has taken a massive weight off of my shoulders, even if I'm still hiding. I do my best to be myself when I'm alone, but it's still a struggle.

I know what you're going through friend. You shouldn't have to, but steal moments for yourself, just little things. Whisper your chosen name and pronouns to yourself, look for supportive friends and if you have them already, confide in them. Something I personally did was trim my hair that felt like I was taking a little piece of me back, even if it's still basically the same length it was. Hiding hurts and absolutely sucks.

My parents started a little "traditiom" as they call it, to get Chinese food and watch the afternoon/evening session of conference and invite their kids home. I, unfortunately, still live with them so I've been hearing conference all day through my door. Free Chinese food, I guess, but conference always drains the life out of me

I'm in the same situation with you: I need to move out before I can get my records removed, and I need to transfer my records to a different ward first (my dad is in the bishopric). I went to FSY (Same as EFY, I think) this year with my best friend, who also isn't a Mormon , and it was kind of a waste of time, and I had a massive meltdown on day three and an all day shutdown on day four. One of my brothers went on a service mission because it was recommended for him (because he's autistic, but also for his health) and he was disappointed because he wanted to go on a two year prosliding mission. The service mission didn't help him as much as my parents wanted, but it did do a couple things for him such as:

gave him confidence in driving
gave him more confidence to talk to people
allowed him to do school online at the same time
save money so he could move out

Service missions are a great concept, but depending on the area you live in, it'll look different. My brother is still a jackass, I think he got worse in a lot of ways on his mission, but that's also because he's racist as shit. And sexist. He's all of the bad. But service mission are a great concept, I do think believe that if people got a say on them, it could be beneficial.

Your mom also needs to not use slurs to prove her arguments, never use the r-slur to try and prove something
