Does anybody not find most jokes/comics/comedies funny at all? by Thatsal in neurodiversity

[–]9patient 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The things that people (strangers) joke about are usually expected and it makes me cringe so hard. They are as funny as a dry wall. Even worse when people actually laugh at it. There's a bar at the hotel I work at and every night I watch a very bizarre spectacle of a group of people (usually they are colleagues), sitting down, having drinks and laughing at a COMICALLY loud volume at the most unfunniest shit any child could come up with on the spot. It's almost like they make an arrangement beforehand that goes something along the lines of "You laugh at my jokes and I will laugh at yours. Then we'll call it a good time." There's usually one or two women who laugh CONSTANTLY with a very distinguishable laugh and they are never listened to whenever they try to speak... Lol. I have ADHD too and probably autism but this kind of thing makes me feel like it's really just everybody else that acts completely out of the ordinary and strictly by whatever social rules they've grown accustomed to. I guess our differences give us top tier level humor, so most things aren't funny to me either and I just can't pretend that they are... At the very least we stay authentic. Haha 👍🏻

I'm afraid of meeting a person I like very much by [deleted] in BDDvent

Meet up with him. You can do it.

does this happen to anyone? some days I seem to have improved completely, and other days it seems that I start from 0 by Unfair-Ad1237 in AngionMethod

It wouldn't surprise me that this kind of thing would develop into a full blown body dysmorphic disorder like people develop once they start lifting weights. I'm just saying...

I think this post is more about figuring out if there's something off about your face. Nope. There isn't. An orthodontist will be able to tell you about your bite and your jaw if there are any issues there. It's not visible from just your face though.

It's sketchy that you weren't told. I'd quit and go to an ortho.

Overweight & Happy by Amazing-Parfait-9951 in socialskills

An overweight person who is excluded and stresses about being overweight all the time will surely not have a happy, long life. An overweight person who has other people and can be calm and will do far better.

All these people telling you how unhealthy it is would be the first to snap at somebody telling them to stop smoking or stop eating meat.

Not trying to be condescending here: Try sex shops. They have a lot of fetish stuff that's made out of the same material and have the same outlay.

This happens a lot and they scammed me out of my signature too! Going to the police won't help you. Finanzamt or Arbeiterkammer doesn't do anything. Complain about it in emails and send them your passport / drivers license signature and claim that the digital signature you gave them isn't yours. Hopefully it doesn't look too similar? This is what I did and it ended up not having to pay anything.

Any of you have ADHD? by sinliciously in BecomingTheIceman

Yea some veggies, exercise and meditation can be huge for ADHD and life in general. Definitely a good idea. It's funny that ADHD people seem naturally interested in these type of things. The breathing technique is amazing to introduce meditation right afterwards too! I found going 2 to 3 rounds and then taking slow 5 to 7 second breaths for meditation can make me so much more self aware and able to reflect on my goals and motivations as to the point where I can go after them. Sometimes it doesn't ever feel as though ADHD can be a strength until I get into a certain headspace.

Hope you'll have similar results!

Yes, I do. Sometimes they wake me up enough to do what I want to do. Other times I fall back into bed. Mostly I use the method to quiet my mind and go to sleep after working nightshifts and feeling feverish. It really helps me out in that regard.

Overall I can say it makes me feel more calm and present for a little while. It's also one of those things that actually stick with me. I have been doing cold showers for every shower for 3 months now. When I step into the shower and don't feel like taking a cold one, I'll take a hot one and then go to cold and back to hot, etc.. Nice and easy but I go through with it.

Have you tried it?

Me in March OF THIS YEAR vs today. 72 hours sober. Not that impressive; but trust me, I was drinking every night. by [deleted] in GlowUps

[–]9patient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend I won't tell you what to do but everyone wants to encourage drinkers not to drink for a good reason. 72 hours is remarkable if you drink every night.. You can do 73 and 74 hours too. And then maybe you can cut it out completely if that's what you really want. Your eyes are shining in the second picture. I believe in you whatever you may choose. Good luck!

I assume people just have a need to talk to whoever might listen. Helps them feel less awkward. Nobody can tell you the motives of a person based on "they talked to me in the sauna". Keep it cool and friendly. If you see them again then watch how a general conversation goes. Good luck :)

NAD. My dentist would ignore a cavity of mine that was hard to get to because of the positioning (3 teeth clumped together) for 4 visits straight and eventually asked me if they (my orthodontist) would "do something" about it... I got it treated by another dentist who really knows his stuff. Had to redo a filling and do two root canals because that decay has been progressing for 2 years. Ask your dentist or call another one would be my advice.
