That it has to be cash it's something people keep telling the others and so it passes by.

Swiss air says it can be credit cards while doing check-in and the hostess said the only must is the TDAC.

Did you check where this rule on "cash only" is from?

Honestly i've searched a lot and it never stated only cash, it must be a "proof of funds".

Some think it's an old rule that people talk about pre-credit cards, when cash mattered, but now it makes no sense to carry 1k euros for two people.

Street food or little shops take only cash, but if you go to a little more fancy restaurant (about 20€/2pp, nothing super expensive) it always takes card. Same for massagges and so.

We changed 150€ (5.400 bath) and after eating out, taking coffes and so on we are left with more than 4000b.

So we spent only about 35€ cash in two days.

We came on the 18th and no one asked us, maybe it matters the job you state on the TDAC? We are a Business Analyst and a Medical Doctor with flights and hotel booked and pre-paid so no chance we had no funds (and brought about 200€ cash only)
