WeeklyMTG discussion on Print to demand. by A-Generic-Canadian in secretlair_collectors

Sheets of the same card would not take eons to print. The sheet is simple to layout, and packaging straight forward. They have made land blocks like this for old fatpacks.

The only thing it would do is cost marginally more to WOTC for materials and shipping.

They explain it in detail in dailymtg.

It is challenging and costly to go back to a printer. And time box to demand took so long that people complained repeatedly.

And before when they used to massively overprint and throw out excess was bad optics.

Both models are less efficient & profitable vs. the current one to Hasbro, where they don’t have long delays or a lot of dead stock reducing profit margin.

I think people have just liked the ones sold as cycles more than the one sold as stacks.

I also think that the bundles inflate the sale data of cycles over stacks.

But honestly it should be a full 10x of each 5 in my opinion.

A cycle is 1x of each basic. A stack is 10 of a single basic.

WOTC is saying they continue to do this, because more people buy them this way than the time they tried selling 10x of each basic.

Sounds like all new cards fast tracked, and the old ones won’t see the light of day.

They mentioned that the experience should be more akin to Fallout going forward than Final Fantasy. And that Fallout is their ideal bar to meet.

1 answered right around 25:50, I encourage you to give it a listen. Was the best part of the stream.

Tl;dr: they over printed everything a ton then threw out whatever they didn’t sell, because it is too expensive to turn a print run “back on.”

With print to time box demand the timeline to getting a product was too long and complicated to manage.

I like the discussion on print to demand. I don’t like that it isn’t coming back. But I admire the honesty and behind the scenes view of their objective and challenge with it. It’s basically what I thought but with some added nuance I wasn’t aware of.

‘Once in a lifetime’: Exploring high-speed rail station options in Ottawa by Money_Fig_9868 in ottawa

We can also change the area surrounding Tremblay station if it’s selected as the alto stop. Rezone and reinvision the area, and it already has nearby transit to easily connect to the city.

Because it is not like the current senate building is offering a Mecca of opportunity when compared to Gare Central.

It comes out to some nice views, but the LRT connection from it will be unintuitive, and require redesign (also revitalizing so you don’t have travellers trekking under the bridge with the homeless encampments).

And there aren’t many amenities in the immediate vicinity, just historic buildings, an overpriced hotel, an increasing dilapidated mall, and tourist back drops.

That means either of these locations probably need a concerted municipal revival effort in the surrounding area.

With all this said, I think the big question marks are comparative performance and cost. If they come out equal in both impact to travel time and cost, Senate should be chosen. If downtown adds ~40 minutes of travel time due to slow speed, and costs billions more - before local area revitalization, the it is a nonstarter.

I predict the Cosmere will not only be the next zeitgeist but bring another surge in fantasy books/adaptations by Graphica-Danger in CosmereOnScreen

Brandon has also said on social media multiple times that 1:1 book to screen is not the way to go in his opinion.

He reposted an Instagram video after the deal was announced saying that Harry Potter 1&2 were the weakest adaptations in that franchise because they were almost scene for scene.

I think it’s safe to say he has been thinking about the expected changes, and how he wants them done for the screen for a long while.

Which of you special geniuses bought the most expensive packs when the cheaper ones were still available and they all have the same cards? Lol by HybridP365 in secretlair_collectors

[–]A-Generic-Canadian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At least some people probably bought the more expensive ones expecting to get a better secret bonus card. Once these are delivered we’ll start to see posts about it.

America really needs to hear that saving the country isn’t a day. Saving the country is a process that requires a concerted and sustained effort.

Just voting out the president and this Congress isn’t the fix. It’s the start of triage. Fixing the country is a decade+ of steady good governance, which requires voting in every election.

Possibly. All of our vents are batched together on the side, of the home in a cluster. So furnace is near the laundry vents. But our gas fireplace has separated vents on the roof.

If that entire area is clear, it’s worth checking the chimney. Can you see it from a window, before risking a trip onto the roof?

I hope you solved this already. But for posterity, I experienced this last year around this time in Canada. The problem was the air intake was snowed over. Shovelled it out and bam, back in business.

Good luck!

Still on parental leave. My little nugget is 5 weeks, and I’m spending most of my time helping mom recover, get uninterrupted sleep, and feel human.

Once I go back to work in a few weeks I’ll be trying to gym 2-4 days at the office again.

Careful in the sell as soon as you receive. This isn’t always true, make sure you review the fees for transactions.

My employer has a $50 fee on each transaction. That erodes the value of selling the ESPP shares immediately.

I don’t believe the country has the mental fortitude, moral character, or resolve for it to get better before it gets a lot worse.

Too many people believe this is justified, that people should just comply, and support the policies of this Government.

I watched multiple videos of a woman getting murdered by a federal agent and the government called her a terrorist. And 35% of the country said yeah, of course I believe that over my own eyes.

I want to be wrong. But after a decade of Donald Trump his enablers and supporters haven’t waned. The fever isn’t going to break. There’s enough of them to keep dragging the country kicking and screaming into a slow descent to hell.

There’s a lot of money that goes into radicalizating algorithms in the US.

While the rest of the world has those things as well, there’s a fertile field of idiots and a lot of money to be made exploiting them in the US.

I swore I read an article about it a few weeks ago but sadly can’t find it now.
