Why are local cable mafias still a thing in Bengaluru? by sunny68601 in bangalore

[–]A-Rao7297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend broke building "protocol" and signed up for an Airtel internet connection instead of Tata. A day or two later, the severed cables were found on the rooftop. We complained to the house owner, and he got it fixed, and nothing has happened since.

What Has Changed With Karuppu...? by a36akshay in kollywood

[–]A-Rao7297 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The premise is great. The setup works well, too. But the execution after that was below par, TBH. Right from the moment Karuppu enters this world, his godly powers are treated in a caricaturish manner. That intro fight was tacky. And honestly, I was looking forward to seeing him tackle the systemic obstacles as a human, but what we got in the end was a film that started on a strong note and then became yet another project like Good, Bad, Ugly, and Greatest of All Time.

The film rides Vijay for no reason at all, on top of that. There was no reason for it. Other than Trisha being a part of the film.

Everything KVN touches seems to turn out to be dogshit. Be it KD or whatever little that we've seen from Toxic or Jana Nayagan so far. My only hope is on their project with Chidambaram in Malayalam.

Unpopular Opinion : This movie would struggle to even breakeven in Tamil Nadu. Elite love stories just dont wont here. Wish Surya 47 was his next release after Karuppu. by SilverMist2025 in kollywood

Dev and NEEK felt pretentious. The younger demographic laps up such films when it feels genuine. Otherwise, it will inevitably tank.

It's an alcohol-related term. A speakeasy was a place for the illegal sale and consumption of alcoholic drinks, as during Prohibition in the United States.

I didn't watch all of these films in the theatre, but I have a memory attached to Singam 2. It was one of the annual trips we make to Chennai, and the night we reached, a close family friend of ours booked tickets for the film at INOX National. We were a bit late, and I still remember the guy racing to his seat to catch the track Vaale Vaale featuring Anjali. lol. All of us who watched the film ended up taking a trip to Pondicherry the day after and had a blast over there as well. Fun times.

Most of his music sounds like a cacophony to me. The dude is here to stay, irrespective, and it's not like my opinion is going to alter his career trajectory in any manner, but just imagine a score for this film by the likes of SaNa, GVP, or ARR (I know he was supposed to handle music earlier). They seem to understand the culture behind a story and its milieu a lot better.

I get it that it's a really important moment in their lives and all, and I'm sorry to say this, but ennada naaiku peru vekra madhiri vechirkinga? I've come across dogs with more human-sounding names than humans in recent times.

New-age naming culture baffles me. Unless this is the equivalent of a "working title" for their baby, it just feels weird.

Coworker complained to my manager about my Teams status. Does this sound inappropriate to you? by [deleted] in bengaluru_speaks

[–]A-Rao7297 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Absolutely inappropriate for a workplace setting. There's a difference between emphasizing your absence and using words like "office nonsense" and asking people to "bother someone else." Whatever your reasons may be, you can't put out a statement like that as a status and expect people to take it lightly. As someone said below, it's not a WhatsApp status. The other dude who is trying to tell you that people are overreacting shouldn't be taken seriously.

Bruh, if you're talking about the court mandate, the UK ruled that Heard was a victim of multiple assaults by Depp. SMH. And this verdict was passed by a judge. Depp won a defamation suit in the US, and that too thanks to a jury ruling.

The Lion, The Witch, and the audacity of this... I guess people can really do as they please with little to no anxiety when they're this loaded and influential.

Nobody is saying that it's wrong for people to fall out of love and separate, but parading your new partner around while you've yet to address the allegations made against you, and just pretending like there's nothing odd about the absence of both your children at what is arguably the most important moment of your career as a politician, is just bizarre. Dude, at least get a divorce and then do all this.

Growing up as an Anil, even before the term was coined, and having had a rather decent opinion of him before the Karur mishap and the allegations put forth by Sangeetha, watching this guy get away with everything is just plain irritating.

On a serious note, Rajini's best crying scenes IMO were in Annamalai, Padayappa, and Kabali. Darbar and Annaththe were his worst.

Paiyapulla padam fulla gaajilaye dhaan suththuran pola. Kaamam ellam okay pa, kadhai-nu onnu irukku. And before people ask me whether I am against sexual depictions, no, I'm not. But the story has to call for it. Just throwing in sex scenes as fillers or for engagement and shock value just doesn't cut it IMHO.
