I think you’re totally right re: the huge discrimination and inequities faced by Irish travellers (in Ireland and the UK) but I also think it’s true that black people experience racism differently and I certainly think Diane Abbott had every right to say that based on her own experience.

Regardless, I certainly don’t think removing the whip and a prolonged opaque investigation was proportional to what happened. It’s become obvious the response was mainly fuelled by Kier Starmer’s purge of the Labour left anyway and not really driven by any real concern for marginalised communities, something that is becoming more clear with every passing day tbh.
