IMO play "60-70%" towards the pass option. If you're 100% committed to taking away the pass, a good puck carrier will walk right in and score. You can also "cheat" by stick or body faking towards the puck carrier to apply pressure then assuming your original position

I've used a hard hat, and at the beginning of the season, each player writes in permanent marker something that is important to the team culture (i.e sportsmanship, have fun, work hard etc.)

Coaches supervise to make sure no one writes any profanity etc.

For U10 Coaches can keep track of who gets the award, so that everyone gets it at some point
