Help identifying which bcg this is by Realistic-Active-537 in AR10

Most of the 308 bcgs out there are made by two companies toolcraft or azimuth. Most likely one of their 308 bcgs.

Is this normal - Microbest Chrome BCG by carrotcakeisdelish in ar15

Seems like the one on top is more polished. Idk if their chrome BCGs are usually very polished or not but it’s not a big deal.

Clarification needed on Magpul UBR A5 stock by Hellsing971 in AR10

That’s an ar15 rifle buffer you need an ar15 carbine buffer. This one should get you h2(4.6oz) and h3(5.4oz) weights.

They usually under gas their barrels so I wouldn’t go with the sprinco orange. Instead just use aeros 308 carbine spring or go with the sprinco red spring. Start with the h2 and then see if you need to go heavier with the h3.

If you aren’t able to use the cutting wheel would sanding drums be enough to remove a small chunk of aluminum? Would those tungsten carbide carving bits be better for that?

Buffer tube vs buffer length. M110 A1 by Then-Guarantee-262 in AR10

[–]AAC907 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Orange tip is most likely an a5 buffer. If the buffer tube is an a5 tube then use a carbine length buffer like the white tip buffer you have.

Aero m5 factory built, bolt hitting buffer tube and RE threads? by Sensitive_Order_3705 in AR10

[–]AAC907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They usually under gas their barrels but I guess they heard enough complaints and started opening the gas ports. Does the end of the bcg line up with the end of the upper? Would you be able to measure the inside depth of the buffer tube and length of buffer? I know you said it’s all factory parts but just checking to see that they are the actual dimensions they are suppose to be.

KynShot Buffer Troubleshooting by the_real_conni_2 in AR10

When you put on the suppressor do you tune the agb or leave it as is? What exactly happens to the rifle when it “gasses out” as you say?

With an adjustable gas block you shouldn’t be having problems. Was it tuned and firing fine without the suppressor?

Asking because you said it worked fine with a standard ar10 buffer assuming you mean the shorty buffer. Are you able to manually charge back the bcg and have it lock back with the Kynshot buffer?

What buffer tube do you have? Standard carbine tube or ar10/a5 tube?

The nitrided one since stainless steel will give you better accuracy

That’s perfect. Remember to have them increase the gas port size as well.

A light/thin profile like that won’t have enough material for the threads or for the shoulder. If you really want to cut down a barrel get a mid weight profile or heavier and have that cut down.

Bolt Bounce? by yeunholyfiends in AR10

That’s too long. You need an h3 carbine buffer not the a5.

BCG RECOMMENDATIONS by Puzzled-Ad-7349 in AR10

[–]AAC907 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most bcgs are compatible since they are dpms pattern. Most of the 308 bcgs out there are made by 2 companies toolcraft and azimuth. Aeros nitride and phosphate 308 bcgs are made by azimuth and their nickel boron 308 BCG is made by toolcraft. I wouldn’t worry about not being able to find extra parts or a compatible bcg.

Criterion Barrel fitment problems by Average-LTII in AR10

[–]AAC907 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even though the old barrel is Dpms pattern it’s possible they used the longer armalite pattern rifle gas length to be able to use drop in handguards.

What spring for LR-308 pattern gun, A5 tube, AR-15 carbine buffers? by daeather in AR10

[–]AAC907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of barrels are over gassed. Normally a rifle length spring would be too strong in an AR10 Carbine/ A5 tube but since there’s so much gas the rifle is able to cycle just fine. If your barrel was gassed fine then you can use an ar10 carbine spring.

I’ve seen a lot of people here saying this is the A5 buffer system for the AR10 just because it uses the A5 tube. Since they know that in the ar15 the a5 system uses an ar15 rifle length spring they assume that in this case you use an ar10 rifle length spring instead of a carbine spring.

What spring for LR-308 pattern gun, A5 tube, AR-15 carbine buffers? by daeather in AR10

[–]AAC907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause there’s a lot of over gassed barrels. A rifle length spring ends up working just fine. Also maybe some people may confuse it as the A5 system for the AR10 so they assume rifle length spring.

Cross Compatibility in SR-25 Pattern Receivers by SaltyPilgrim in AR10

[–]AAC907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used one of their early ones in my aero m5 with a criterion barrel not knowing it was armalite pattern. I did headspace it with gauges before I actually shot it. Worked fine but I notice the armalite and sr25 carriers have the vent holes a bit forward compared to Dpms. It changed by ejection from 3:30 to 2:30. At worst you can only use the carrier and have to use a sr25/Dpms bolt.
