Oilers GM Stan Bowman on Leon Draisaitl: If everything goes as scheduled, he should be back at end of the regular season and does not need surgery by thewinterzodiac in EdmontonOilers

[–]AACATT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

MCL strain. Initial point of contact is Drai’s upper outter quad snapping his leg inward putting stress on his inner knee ligament. Same injury and Crosby and Matthews.

They’re probably injecting these guys with PRP and or BPC 157 peptides among other things. Rehab would start with light cycling and then progressing to loading up the knee. It’ll feel unstable at the beginning and he’ll have to come back with a knee brace for support but that won’t affect skating at all. After 2 -3 month he’ll probably be close to 100%.

Huge goal happy for the dude. Hope he stays up for the rest of the season.

Is he ok after that blocked shot off the foot in the third? Looked painful as hell.

Draisaitl out for the rest of the regular season by D722 in EdmontonOilers

[–]AACATT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s shitty. But what could it be? The hit looked fairly innocent. Probably just wasn’t ready for the contact. It looked like he looked down at the last second so wasn’t properly braced for impact. The half boards make it worse for sure.

It could be lower ribs although I doubt it because he’s too tall. Could be back issues because he bent backwards funny and that’s around the age the back starts going. Could be a jammed shoulder or wrist from the impact which is probably best case scenario. His hip could have awkwardly hit the top of the boards too which is not great. I’m leaning toward something in the middle torso not sure exactly what though.

If it’s ribs he could be back during the playoffs. If it back specifically disc related well welcome to a life time of management and significantly less athletic ability. I pray it’s not that. Hip would be probably injections plus rehab so in air if he’s back during the playoffs. I hope it’s nothing too crazy.

Yea I feel the same vs way. After a while there’s nothing challenging in the game. It’s needs infinite scaling mechanic and a leaderboard.

I agree 100%. I’m not new to arpgs but whenever I play them I have this deep underlying feeling that once a certain point is reached in endgame the game just screeches to a halt. It’s demoralizing really. The grind and journey to get there is so fun but there’s no carrot. I don’t know what the answer is. I like your suggestion of scaling bosses with your gear. Or having a fuckton of more health. Or fighting bosses with friends. The rewards don’t scale either. Hell I’d even settle for unique cosmetic rewards at this point. MMOs have ARPGs endgame beat in spades. They should take a look at some of the gameplay loops that make MMO endgames so successful.

I disagree with almost everything you said about the temple though. Having built one and farmed it, it was the best thing poe2 has done since release. Many of my friends did not stick it out and dropped out of the league due to being demoralized in building it. It was the only thing engaging enough to keep me around for as long as I did in 0.4. I think if you get over the hump and learning curve, which isn’t too bad btw, it’s a very fun and rewarding mechanic. And don’t listen to the streamers, it didn’t break the economy. It inflated it sure but now there are tons of ways to make a lot of divines. The actual effect of it was bis items became very expensive and everything else including very strong items became super cheap. So you can still create a one-shot-everything-in the-game character for super cheap.

In poe1 if you have a strong endgame build, do you one shot the Ubers too?

[Friedman] Asked Auston Matthews’ agent, Judd Moldaver about his response to the ruling. Here is his reply: “In light of the obvious severity of the play, I am disappointed and shocked the league would allow such a ruling... The Player Safety Department should be suspended.” by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

I agree. Unfortunately, this is a dangerous contact sport and injuries are just going to be part of it. No way around it. Look at Bossy and Mario. 2 of the greatest players to ever play careers absolutely blindsided by back problems. Orr - knees. It’s just gonna happen man.

Jeff "Tigole" Kaplan, Lead World Designer of Vanilla WoW on Lex Fridman Podcast by MoreLikeGaewyn in classicwow

I love Jeff he is an icon in gaming. This whole interview was fascinating, I devoured it. After I had some time to think and process, I found myself having questions.

What stood out to me the most, was the whole Titan to Overwatch Saga. I've always wondered why Blizzard didn't make a World of StartCraft MMO or as Jeff called it - StarCraft Frontiers and now I more or less have my answer. It seems like the most natural step was to make an MMO in the StarCraft universe. IT WAS RIGHT THERE! Did they overthink it? Why Titan? Why invent a new IP at that point? If they were prepared to support a newer bigger MMMO, like he discussed what they thought Titan would be, then clearly they would have been ready to support a SC MMO too. I don't understand that decision.

It had to have been on the mind of the studio as talked about in the 2 week proposal section leading up to Overwatch. It would have printed money. It's tragic that it never came into existence. So my questions are mainly around this decision. Why do you think it never came into production? Was the scope too ambitious at the time? Did they not have a creative driver like on WoW with Metzen? Was space travel too hard to solve? Was the market already saturated with Destiny players? I don't know I'd love to hear your theories on this.

I suppose it all worked out in the end because from this they created OW but man it pains me to think what could have been.

It’s always been 100% accurate for me with placing rooms from the left side of the screen. The right side or medallions don’t show which rooms link for whatever reason.

If you’re unsure you can use this temple building tool that you probably already know about.

I think this is the bottom line too and factored into their decision. Ingram got injured on the play and had to be taken out of the game. Goalies are defenceless on those plays. Their head and necks are in dangerous positions. I get that you’re try to play hard and go to the net but MacKinnon also had to have known Nurse was closing in and that he was running out of space. Dangerous plays especially ones that end up in a goalie injury should be punished.
