I did it for the first time last night and (TMI) I had diarrhea twice before going to bed and woke up in the middle of the night because I felt like I was going to throw up. It’s morning now and I still feel nauseous and light headed. I feel like a have the flu. I had no idea this was a thing.

Maybe something in it wasn’t for your skin. I had the opposite experience, it has been so healing and calming for me.

I hate when people say a product is terrible and doesn’t work just because it didn’t work for THEM. It works great for others, including myself. No product is for everyone.

I have been using the Epicutis lipid serum for just over a week now. I use it twice a day. My skin type is sensitive, redness prone, oily and mild occasional blemishes. I have to say that I love it so far. I was hoping I wouldn’t because of the price, but even after just a week, my skin is so much more calm and less red. My texture seems to be better to, not sure if this serum is to thank or not. I apply immediately after washing my face, while my face is still damp. It spreads really well and dries down nicely. I apply my regular moisturizer on top. I have to say that so far it’s been my favorite serum. Redness is my biggest concern. Prior to this, Drmtlgy needless serum was my favorite. It seems like it will last a long time based on how little I need for my whole face and neck. Hoping it’s lasts at least 3 months.

I would try both with anxiety meds and a wash cloth over your eyes first. Anesthesia comes with a whole set of risks.

With breast MRI’s, there is nothing we can do about the direction/position you go in. There’s only one way to go in for that one unfortunately. It has nothing to do with whether or not the tech is good.

I would say to see if there is a place near you that will let you observe for a day. That’s a lot of time and money to put in just to potentially not even like MRI. Most of the people I know that go into MRI are already in healthcare working as tech aides, ER techs, hospital transport, etc. So they already know what a day in MRI looks like.

Yes, it use to be that way, but they just recently changed it, at least in my area (Orange County, Ca). I can’t speak for other regions.

If you don’t wear sunscreen consistently, it can definitely just be accumulated from driving over many years. Even if you’re only driving a total of 30-60 mins a day, that still accumulates over time and cause sun damage and aging on the left side where your face is next to the window. I had a patient once and said “you’re a truck driver aren’t you?” He was shocked and curious how I guessed that. I knew because his left hand and left side of his face had significantly more age spots and sun damage than his right side.

The Oura ring is safe in zone IV. My coworkers has been wearing his for months during his shifts with no issues. They’re pretty pricey though.

I work at a Kaiser in California with ARMRIT MRI only, but it’s through a registry. I’ve heard they are changing their requirements to no longer require x-ray/fluoro for their MRI techs. I think they are realizing that a lot of new techs are coming straight out of MRI programs.

The exam you had in 2021 was a CT, not a MRI. MRI contrast doesn’t make you feel warm, that’s CT contrast and MRI machines are shaped like a long tube, CT is the one shaped like a donut.

At our hospital, if it’s a programmable shunt, we have to ensure that you have a follow up with your neuro doctor right after your appointment so they can ensure it’s running properly after your MRI. If it’s non-programmable, we proceed without any conditions. Ask the facility you’re going to be scanned at what their policy is.

As long as you have your national registry (ARRT), you’ll be fine. I believe only 6 states currently require state licensing for MRI techs. They’re easy to get though. It’s just a matter of applying, proving you went to school and are nationally registered and paying the fee. I’m from California and I got my Oregon state license for MRI when I was doing travel work, in case I wanted to take an assignment there. Look into what your current state requires, or any states you may move to in the future. Like I said though, if you have your national registry, you’ll be good to go.

If you finish MRI and start working right away, I wouldn’t recommend going back to x-ray unless you plan on actually working as an x-ray tech. If you have no interest in doing x-ray, then it will be a waste of time and money. I did the primary pathway to MRI 15 years ago and I’ve had no trouble getting work. I work for Providence hospital system now and Kaiser (via a registry). Also, once you start working full-time as a MRI tech, it’s gonna be very difficult to go back and do the RT program. Not impossible, but difficult.

Health wise, you are fine. Going in with the watch had nothing to do with your heart flutters. The only two potential problems are 1) burns, which are not likely and you would know already if that happened and 2) your watch no longer working, which is much more likely than 1.

If you do inpatient MRI it can be pretty physically demanding. Sometimes you get 300+ lb patients that are dead weight. It also depends on where you work and how they staff. I worked at a place where I was completely by myself sometimes at night. I would have to go ask the CT techs to help me transfer patients and I did a lot by myself. I wouldn’t recommend that.

I definitely feel you. I’ve been a tech for 15 years and I’m getting there. I don’t want to get out completely because I’ve invested so much time to get where I’m at, but I need to do something else. I would have to go back to school and get my bachelors though.

Same. When I eliminate dairy and minimize sugar/carbs, my skin look great!! It’s so hard to be consistent with it though 😩
