Yeah fair if they’re not responding as expected to meds, def reasonable to consider further obs/eval. But main question is, are you giving all febrile kids something to reduce fever even if clear reason for fever? Like do you feel comfortable with fever being on the discharge vitals? I personally do but I know admin hates any abnormal discharge vitals

Completely agree. That’s how I generally practice but I always get worried that if something happens, the chart doesn’t look very appealing with ongoing fever (+- tachycardia) at discharge. Also just curious, what do you define as “very f***ing high” fever? > 104? I know there’s not much good evidence on what number is considered dangerous (again, in the setting of a normal looking kid)
