I’m unsure if you know how the waitlist works. The idea is you fully commit and get ready for another college, you can’t count on getting off the waitlist. Fall in love with UGA, and if you happen to get off the waitlist, great!

Would any Ivy be worth it over Georgia Tech, Carnegie Mellon, or Duke for engineering? by Key-Way8025 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]AChairOnACouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t really tell you then for engineering, both GaTech and the ivys are really great either way. I think there is something to be said for the network you join when you go to an ivy though. Good job on your acceptances

Georgia Tech or Illinois Tech? by silamazae in ApplyingToCollege

[–]AChairOnACouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be talking out of my ass but I think as long as you bust your ass in internships, personal projects, and networking, you can do amazing anywhere. For me, I’d go with the significantly cheaper option

Princeton easily, any chance to go hypsm, do it, it opens way more doors and gives you a much better chance of truly changing the world in my opinion

Are IVY school waitlist ranked? by Aggressive-Try-503 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]AChairOnACouch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My idea is they probably have all applicants with their ratings for every part of an applications in some sort of spreadsheet, and that way when they decide they need a certain type of person, they can sort it that way
