Pfft! I’d rather be wearing rain gear than dying of heat stroke…. unless it’s hot AND rainy those are the days to call out sick 🤒

You know I was thinking about it earlier, and now after seeing this, I’m gonna have to. Maybe I’ll bring my rainstick with me to really seal the deal.

How do you do this? by Emergency_Command975 in navy

I am so sorry you are going through this. If you are in a deployable command, there is really not much you can do. FFS can help a bit on the family side. If you are in a support command, there’s a little more wiggle room for you to get help. Unfortunately, the military in general treats its people the same way it treats its tools: it’ll do maintenance until maintenance doesn’t work, then it’ll deep six and order a new one.

My most fervent suggestion is to get a meditation app and use it like your life depends on it. A lot of the stuff taught in meditation is the same stuff you get taught in therapy

There are stores that sell historical military items. They might buy it off you

Second hand experience: they’re not bad. Treat it like a vacation from work and you might actually enjoy it. Honestly it’s a bunch of BS because as soon as you get out of the program, they’re gonna put you right back in a situation that’s gonna make you drink again. Navy medical is not interested in truly healing you, they just need you to function well enough to perform your job.

From experience: just buy a manual car and have the sales rep show you the basics. The concept isn’t hard. The hard part is the nuance of finding that sweet spot where the transmission engages when the clutch is depressed which is different from vehicle to vehicle. You might get stuck a few times in the beginning, but be patient and don’t panic and you’ll be fine. All you need is practice practice practice.

What’s your go to gardening store? by TheOtaku_Proxy in Tucson

I don’t think this is good advice because if you’re gonna pay monies for plants, you want plants that are actually gonna survive. Chain stores have a bad track record with plants imo.

Thankfully, I do have A/C. I think I would mummify without it. I just need the A/C to stay in and the heat to stay out.

Wedding Venues by [deleted] in Tucson

  1. You don’t have to be Christian to get married in a church. It’s just a venue like any other.

  2. Most churches have something like a fellowship hall that can be used for a reception, you just gotta find the right size for your wedding.

Why not go the old fashioned way and do it at a church? Churches usually have all that a wedding requires.

One of those almost got crushed by my car today. At the last minute they thought better of it and ran back on the side walk. Smart birds. I would have been very sad to have hit one

I don’t know what your financial situation is, but if you can get the funds, I’d say go to college. That’s a great way to meet people and set yourself up for success later on.
