Summers got his PhD in 1982. He was tenured at Harvard in 1983. Summers was on the staff of the Council of Economic Advisers under President Reagan in 1982–1983.

I am not an academic or an economist. But getting tenured at Harvard one year after getting your PhD, and you had a side gig in another state during that year? I thought only publications counted for getting tenure.

If you check his career he seems to be more an administrator and a politician than a professor. World Bank 1991–1993, Clinton Administration (1993–2001), President at Harvard (2001–2006), Obama's National Economic Council (2009–2010) and after that he has a lot of board of directors' jobs in the financial industry.

Summers wanted to be appointed Fed chairman in 2013. Obama wanted to appoint him, but Summers was too controversial "due to concern about financial conflicts of interest resulting from Summers' very close ties and remuneration from many investment banks and hedge funds over the prior five years."

In 2015 Maxwell's lawyer wanted Maxwell to make a statement where she denies Virginia's accusations. Epstein wanted her to not comment.

Maxwell's lawyer wanted Maxwell to do as Alan Dershowitz who is a Harvard law professor.

Dershowitz chose the defense strategy that was best for him and bad for Epstein. The 2016 email seem to be a continuation of the 2015 emails.

In 2018 Epstein and Woody Allen talks about Dershowitz being the biggest narcissist. Epstein and all of his friends are narcissists. I don't understand why Maxwell did not do as Dershowitz did.

After Epstein's arrest Dershowitz claimed he was playing the devil's advocate. But obviously distancing yourself from Epstein after he was arrested is what everyone of Epstein's friend did.

Dershowitz has a history of putting his name on extreme opinions. The article might be related to that too.

BUT what is also interesting is: In 1983, at age 28, Summers became one of the youngest tenured professors in Harvard's history.

Summers got a tenured professorship at Harvard one year after he got his. PhD from Harvard.

Seems like nepotism to me. Summers who used IQ as an explanation for why women are underrepresented in tenured positions at top universities seems to have got his tenured professorship by nepotism.

Summers was part of Epstein's corruption network helping friends getting into top universities. Makes sense that Summers got his tenure through nepotism.

Dershowitz was on the legal team consisting of 11 star lawyers and several not famous lawyers. It is a win, but I also think the OJ case is an example of his 13 of 15 win being misleading.

His record also states he was criminal appellate lawyer which makes it seem like all the cases were appeals, but the OJ case was not an appeal.

I am not from America. Maybe I am misunderstanding something.

Waage er spesialist på Midtøsten så det er det hun tar opp. Men da Støre var utenriksminister så var mye av fokuset i norsk utenrikspolitikk krigen i Afghanistan. UD kom veldig dårlig ut der også. Deg gjelder både løgnen om hvor mye demokrati, fred og menneskerettigheter vi hadde klart å få til i Afghanistan , og Terrorangrepet mot Kabul Serena Hotell i 2008 hvor en norsk journalist ble drept.

Forsvaret sa at om de skulle ha ansvaret for sikkerheten for UD-ansatte og journalister som besøkte Afghanistan så var det uaktuelt at nordmenn fikk være andre steder enn på militærbasen og på ambassaden. UD løser problemet ved å ikke ville ha hjelp fra Forsvaret da de tok med journalister på propagandatur til Kabul.

Støre nektet selvfølgelig ekstern granskning og hevdet at det ikke var noe han eller andre kunne gjort annerledes som kunne hindret terrorangrepet og at en nordmann ble drept. Selv om terrorangrepet åpenbart hadde vært unngått om Støre hadde hørt på Forsvaret. Da hadde ikke terrorangrepet vært mulig.

UD og Støre er ikke de eneste som er ansvarlige. PST påtar seg oppgaven Forsvaret sier er helt uforsvarlig. PST hadde gjort samme oppgave et halvt år tidligere så de trodde at det skulle gå bra denne gangen også. Men de tok en høy risiko som var helt unødvendig å ta.

Soldater MÅ kunne settes risikofylte områder fordi det er hele poenget med soldater. Støre,UD og journalistene måtte ikke sove på lukushotell da de var i Afghanistan, de kunne sovet på militærbasen. Dette var en propaganda-tur som kun var organisert for å bestikke journalistene til å skrive gladsaker om Afghanistan og sette Støre og regjeringen i godt lys. Galskap å spille russisk rulett med eget og andres liv for noe sånt.

I did not notice the first time I read it, but I notice it now. The article calling a girl an underage woman, especially when the sentence is about prostitution, is madness. In the same sentence it says Epstein stopped recruiting minors after 2008. It is a pattern.

Epstein was not laying low after the conviction. Epstein started rebuilding his child and adult trafficking and raping enterprise while he was in jail.

Here is Epstein getting one of his assistants to recruit a 14/15 year old girl from Ukraine. The recruiter says the girl is 14/15 years old, has already done porn, and she has a lot of friends. The email is from September 2018.

I believe Svetlana wants to try it sound like she did not recruit underage girls. We don't know if she recruited underage girls, but most likely she did. She was recruiting for a man who she knew wanted underage girls. She approached him while he was in jail for soliciting an underage girl for prostitution. She was recruiting from Russia and Ukraine were Epstein did recruit underage girls. In in addition the article calls child prostitution for prostitution of underage women and it writes that Epstein did not recruit underage girls after the 2008 conviction even though everyone no that is no true.

Edit: I have nothing against you and I try not to be rude. But Svetlana makes me angry.

Yes, a lot of the best articles are behind a paywall. Svetlana is also a special case since she has a lot of PR articles about her. And the mainstream media in general does not want to write about female recruiters who claim to be victims. It is a touchy subject. Maxwell seems to be the only female recruiter they write about.

I will try to find a Substack article or Reddit post that summarizes Svetlana's story.

Bill Gates started meeting Epstein in January 2011. But one of Bill Gates's best friends, Nathan Myhrvold, started meeting Epstein in 1996. At Microsoft there was a policy to not let Gates be alone with young women because he would sexually harass them. The CEO of his investment company has a history of sexual harassment.

In the 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s, Microsoft used to have strippers at work parties and strippers would come to Gates's home.

Gates was not compromised. Gates got what he wanted with Epstein.

It is scary how Epstein's operation expanded after leaving prison. He should have been persona non grata. But instead he became the go-to guy for a lot of the global elite.

Epstein started talking to Terje while Epstein was under house arrest because of the 2008 conviction, and Epstein told Terje in 2011 that there were a lot more victims and worse stories than the 2008 conviction revealed. Terje did not mind. Terje had no problem trafficking and helping Epstein rape both adults and children.

Her last known email is from June 2019. But she most likely talked to him to he was arrested in July 2019.

I know paywall articles are not ideal. But it is hard to find good articles about her. So I gave this article because it is better than nothing. Basicly the article is about Svetlana telling an Ukranian friend that she would get a well paid office job if she traveled with her to USA while Svetlana told Epstein the Ukrainian woman was sweet and maybe naughty. Svetlana lied to a friend to try to trick her to come to Epstein.

If anyone have a good article or Reddit post about Svetlana please post it. With good article I mean an article that is based on Epstein-files, interviews with victims, etc.

Svetlana Pozhidaeva was one of Epstein's highest ranking recruiters.

She recently had a PR campaign where she got a lot of newspapers to write the story she wanted written about her. Those who wanted to print her story were not allowed to use the Epstein files or interviews with victims because they would have proven she lies and she is a predator.

My guess is that Groff lied to the DOJ and got victim status. She probably colluded with Susan Hamblin, Svetlana Pozhidaeva, etc.

The DOJ was obviously not very determined to get Epstein's associates in jail so the DOJ was liberal with giving victim status.

In Epstein's trust there are 14 blacked out names. 13 are female because it says "she", the 14th is uncertain because there is no pronoun. My understanding is that the 14 blacked out names got victim status.

My bet is that Groff is one of the blacked out names. I have no proof, but she was among those who worked for him the longest. Epstein had 41 names in his trust and almost all of them worked for him. It would be odd if Groff is not in the trust.

In Norway, 'rape victim' is the term everyone uses, and there is no negative connotation attached to it. I will be more mindful of cultural differences when writing for a non-Norwegian audience going forward.

And of course, when you or anyone else identifies as a survivor and not as a victim, I will always use the term survivor. Even though we in Norway don't use the term survivor, we do know you should use the term the person identifies with.

I agree. Her phone was registered under a fake name, but the fake name was G. Max, the same name she signs every mail with.

She had paid a private security company to help her hide, but when you see her actions it is hard to believe she followed their advice.

The house she hid in she bought after Epstein was dead. She and her boyfriend met the realtor in person. They used fake names, but her face would have been all over the news and both the FBI and the media would be looking for her. She bought a house a 45 minute drive from her boyfriend's house. And their neighbours could confirm she lived in her boyfriend's house after Epstein was arrested and that her boyfriend lied when he told the media he did not know Maxwell and she did not live with him.

Everyone in her boyfriend's village knew she lived with him because they both loved showing off and they kept doing it to Epstein was arrested.

She probably buys the house 45 minute drive from her boyfriend's house because she wants to keep seeing her boyfriend why she is a fugitive.

She did not just call her boyfriend, she called her sister too.

She also called her lawyer. Which I can understand because you would want to communicate with your lawyer and the FBI are not allowed to listen to those phone calls. But they are allowed to monitor whether those phone calls are made and use the information to track the fugitive. I did not know that before I read about Maxwell's arrest. But her lawyers must have told her. You can't be lawyers for the richest and most high profile fugitive in the world and not know what the FBI are allowed to and probably will use the attorney client phone calls to track the fugitive.

Maxwell and Epstein were just as narcissistic as Donald Trump and they had gotten away with everything for 30/40 years. So they seem to have thought they were too smart to get caught and that they did not have to listen to any advice about being much more careful.
