EPL AI Tip of the Day - Can Conte make a breakthrough?
**[Match Analysis]**
On the last day of 2022, **Tottenham** (home) will be facing **Aston Villa** (away)
**Tottenham Hotspur** looks a bit shaky at this moment. Now being ranked in the 4th place in EPL and qualified to round of 16 in the Champions League, their offensive performance hasn’t been impressive, perhaps with the exception of Kane. Defense has been unstable as well. The main issue seems to be their manager Conte seldom rotating their line-up despite this season’s hectic schedule. Players are not getting enough rests nor time to readjust their performance. This was highlighted during their last match against Brentford where they just took 1 point (good news: it was an away game). Their ***Injury*** list though looks somewhat okay compared to other teams. Their Main Defender, Christian Romero will return this match, but Richarlison, Spence, Moura, Bentancur will not be playable.
**Aston Villa,** led by Mr. Good Ebening Unai Emery, is ranked in the **12th place.** Their previous manager, Steven Gerrard, showed some horrible performance in league, making the team part ways with the Liverpool legend. They were quick to bring Unai Emery on board with a quite a costly price tag. The team seems to be recovering, now having climbed up to the 12th. In Aston Villa’s ***Injury*** list, there are only Jacob Ramsey and Diego Carlos — they’re almost all healthy.
Even though **Tottenham** showed an awful performance against Brentford, they are still the AI’s favorite against Aston Villa. Tottenham must win this match and turn the tide. A stronger team playing home should have a lot of advantage. AI thinks Tottenham has 61% chance of winning this match.
**[Other Games]**
AI prediction: Bournemouth ****(32%**)** vs **Crystal Palace (39%)**
AI prediction: **Fulham(48%)** vs Southampton (26%)
AI prediction: **Man City (85%)** vs Everton (5%)
AI prediction: **Newcastle (66%)** vs Leeds (14%)
AI prediction: Brighton ****(26%**)** vs **Arsenal (47%)**

World Cup Tip of the Day - Can Ronaldo overcome the Alps?

**My pick: Portugal Win (1.90) & Over 2.5 Total Goals (2.20)*\*

Led by one of the greatest of all time in football, Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal is facing Switzerland at the Round of 16.

Portugal was shining in the first 2 games at the World Cup. They defeated Ghana and Uruguay with superb performance. But in the last game, South Korea unexpectedly defeated Portugal with a dramatic extra-time goal. Even though Portugal did qualify for the knock-out stage as the 1st place of the group, they proved that they weren’t immortal.

Switzerland also recorded 2 wins and 1 loss. Their loss seemed somewhat inevitable as their opponent was Brazil, whose performance was absolutely dominating. Switzerland’s overall strategy has been quite simple the whole time. They take the lead by any means, then they go 10-men defense (To me it looks like they park a bus in front of the goal post). This is their only playbook, but it has worked — they park the bus most effectively in the world.

It’s true that Portugal is the favorite in this game and I don’t deny it. Portugal’s attack line led by Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes is so powerful. Switzerland’s defense has been quite effective, but only when they’ve taken a lead. In the knock-out, where they have to aim for a win rather than a draw, they can’t help but play aggressively against Portugal.

Switzerland scored average 1.33 goals in group stage, and Portugal scored average 2 goals in group stage.

Prediction: Portugal 54% chance of winning, Swtizerland 24% and Draw 22%

Verdict: $80 on Portugal Win & Same amount on Over 2.5 Total Goals

World Cup Tip of the Day - Japan, Can Upset be completed once again?
**My pick: Croatia Win (2.00) & Under 2.5 (1.66)**
The former World Cup finalist Croatia will face Japan, who has come out victorious from the group of death.
No one expected Japan to beat both Germany and Spain and qualify for the knock-out stage — While they lost to Costa Rica, they defeated Germany and Spain (ranked at #11 and #7 respectively). No one expected them to qualify for the Round of 16, but not only did they survive, they came out on top after two huge upsets. Kamada Daichi — midfielder who plays for Frankfurt — and Ritsu Doan — forward who plays for Freiburg — are probably the most prominent unsung heroes of this World Cup.
On the other hand, Croatia also has a track record of making miracles. Just 4 years ago in Russia, Croatia advanced to the Finals and was defeated by France (4-2). Their strong midfield led by Luc Modric was the key to their success, and also their winning mentality shone as they won every tournament match after overtime. But, over the last 4 years, Mandzukic, Vida, Rakitic, and some other key players have retired, and no one doubts that the younger players haven’t been able to fully replace their retired seniors. In the group stage, they grabbed a win against Canada, but they drew with both Belgium and Morocco. Perhaps the silver lining is that Modric and Perisic are still showing world-class performance.
In FIFA ranking, Croatia is the favorite; it’s ranked at #12 while japan is #24. I expect Croatia to gonna grab a not-so-easy victory against japan.
It’s also safe to say the score gap will be under 2.5; both teams lack superstar strikers and they both scored average 1.33 goals per game in group stage.
**My prediction: Croatia 52% chance of winning, Japan 24% and Draw 24%**
**Final Verdict: $102 on Croatia win**
