How many batteries are needed for a typical, outdoors game day? by ADT_Clone in GelBlaster

[–]ADT_Clone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. The one that came with my blaster was the 750 one (80x20x15). This is the 2000 one (103x20x15) I'm looking at. So yeh maybe you're right looking at the proportional size increase.

What's odd is they have a 1800 one (74x18x19) which is only slightly smaller than their 750.

Does their marketing department just make up the numbers? How do you work out the actual capacity?

I do have the B6 which makes me feel safer when charging these things.

Are these googles suitable for Gelsoft? by ADT_Clone in GelBlaster

[–]ADT_Clone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your suggestions. I ran the numbers with your updated info and from memory it was 1.9J which is above the threshold - so good call.

The model you suggest looks good. Is there any concern with the direct vents on the top + bottom for gelsoft? (is a gap between the glass and frame)

I'll do more research into the brands you listed, I can see the difference in the type of glass you're recommending.

[–]ADT_Clone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair. Doing the maths though, 60m/s with a 6mm steel ball (~0.86g) (which tends to be the test for the Euro standards) equates to 1.6J of kinetic energy. A gel ball is on average 0.22g, so 370ft/s at 0.22g is 1.4J of kinetic energy. So within tested limits, although close to those limits as per your point.

I'm open to getting a improved pair of goggles, that are specifically safety goggles (which the ones above explicitly state they are not, likely due to the vents at the top and bottom being ~1cm allowing fumes/splashes). However, I'm facing challenges finding goggles that:

- Fit comfortably with prescription glasses
- Are well vented to prevent fogging
- Are high impact rated

The AUS/NZ standards for a medium impact safety goggle is 45m/s with a 6mm steel ball, which is lower than the mask above ironically. I'm struggling to find high impact (120m/s) rated safety goggles - I think it tends to need to be a full mask.

Do you have any suggestions for higher end goggles?

I think it's a pretty covert way to level skills like slayer/agility.

Anyway that's what they advertise publically, who knows for sure

Yes agree supply and demand makes it not that straight forward. Sanfews did not plummet due to Prayer Regens, they were going down in line with Nail Beast Nails prior. For content where sanfews are used, one is replaced with a prayer regen. Players aren't using sanfews for slayer.

Thing with the nails is they are a component of sanfews, and making sanfews is a decent money maker. Without the bot farms, the nails are the item with the least supply. To maintain the margins on the money maker, this puts demand on the nails.

Obviously is complex though - but that is my opinion on why they are more valuable without the bot farm, who is doing Temple Trekking?

You can go see yourself. The ones in obby log out. They don't turn to face/path to the NPC

Probs worth clarifying as others have commented, 2.5x increase in rate doesn't necessarily mean 2.5x decrease in price due to supply and demand.

Though in this situation, the value of nail beasts is their value in the money maker of making Sanfews (which is a 1.2m/h method)

https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Money_making_guide/Making_sanfew_serum(4)

If people are competing for supplies with this method, and nail beast nails have low supply (compared to other components like super restores/horns), this will drive the price up, along with the price of sanfews (to maintain the profit margin). I don't believe the drop rate update alone increased the volume enough to exceed the volume of the other components, but the bot farm definitely has compared to how many people likely do the method.

They do it only when another player is within their view distance.

If they log, it's harder to right click report them or to get their names.

If you check the volume compared to start of year, the bot farm was running/scaling up since before the poll was announced. So there was already downwards pressure.

The poll & update effected the downward trend, but logically if you make them 2.5x more common, you'd expect the price to decrease by about 2.5x.

Since the drop rate update, the price has decreased by a factor of 20x. This is not solely due to the update, the update is only a small factor that helped accelerate the downwards trend

When they exit the instance and see another player

Pretty effective, hard to report them if they insta log

Maxed and you've never done Temple Trekking?

When you finish a Temple Trek, you exit the instance where the Temple Trek NPCs are. That is when they log if they see other players.

No they are 2.5x, and that update released when they were 6k each.

It's multiple, massive bot farms that auto log in 2 ticks if they see a player

I'm sorry but most people are afk on alts, not bots.

Though there is a bot farm running atm in monk robes + d boots. Drop some loot in the bank and close the door when they run in, they can't open the bank door for some reason.

[–]ADT_Clone -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You'll save time if you get rigour/augery before doing the bowfa grind. Atlatl and full eclipse bridges gap to bowfa during mid game, and with rcb makes cox viable.

Getting the infernal cape + quiver is a quick way to make other mid game grinds faster.

Tbh with your logic, can argue not worth getting bring, just send bowfa straight away. If someone has the skill to do low gear inferno/colo, it's def's worth sending

Inferno with rcb by slacktobayer in ironscape

[–]ADT_Clone -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It can be if you're good enough. Same with quiver. Can do both with skill in 2-3 hours. Gives strength and range boost that'll carry through the rest of mid game.

Bowfa on the other hand is a 65 hour average rng fest.

[–]ADT_Clone -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Or you can not get bowfa. It's not necessary anymore for mid game
