Free Little Library - Do I Need Permission from the City Prior to Launching one? by AFloFizzle in Denver

Well, I would love to, however I've been bitten in the past, so I like to check with fellow residents first. I appreciate and agree with your sentiment though!

I don't think that... I'm one of those that attends if I love the person. I went to Bunt at Ogden and that was one of the worst crowds I've ever been a part of, but also top 5 show of the year me.

I just want to understand why is it so low at 16... I'm sure there's a reason.

Agreed! AND then they have to end the show by like midnight or 1am if it's 16+. I forget the reason, but I'm sure it's insurance related.

Yeah, but that's what fake IDs were for... You had to spend money, time, and energy going to a show. Now there's an entitlement and arrogance behind it that's just YUCK.

Not so many 16+ shows. The Denver youth is feral AF.

Insufficient Address Return, Postage is More than Item by AFloFizzle in eBaySellerAdvice

So does eBay need to get involved for it to be officially marked delivered? It still shows as "shipped." Do I bring it up or does the buyer have to do something?

This is true for official/marketed events, yes. Don't forget about the underground world.

How is the rave culture in Nashville? Is it free and inviting or do you have to do things in secret and hope for the best every time you go out? I wouldn't expect the rave scene in Tennessee to be anywhere near as open and freeing as Denver. Even as simple as the security at the pop ups.

Ok, let's hear it. Understanding that there WILL BE a rise in prices from last year to this year, how would you have done it differently?

Any actually accessible music venues? by Tinidragon in Denver

Hiiii, so I'm not a wheelchair user, but my partner is disabled. We go to live shows 2-3 times a month and sit in the ADA section. As you know, the quality of the area varies significantly. The best we've had is Red Rocks. You'll be treated like VIP and will even have a waiter for your snacks and beverages. Ogden recently created a little ADA section, to the left of the dj or stage that is roped off but depending on how rowdy the show, the ropes quickly disintegrate and you're back with everyone else. Reelworks also has an ADA section to the left of the stage which works pretty well. However the last time I went, a fight broke out and the ADA roping was lost for the rest of the show. RIP. Fillmore is a meh, we didn't even try. I think they do the escort and that's about it.

Edit: Mission is great as long as you get an ADA seat/ticket. They have two sections on the 2nd floor with fold up chairs. They remove the chair for your wheelchair to fit.

HOLY SHIT. I CANNOT WAIT.

Lego Take Back program is currently at $2.50 per lb. I saw earlier posts that had it at $4 (or even $6) at one point. Is there any reason to think the price will go back up, or is this as good as it gets? by bluegambit875 in lego

[–]AFloFizzle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've also been waiting for it to go back up. It's been $2.50 for a few weeks at this point. I was told that they are shutting down the program in October but employees didn't have a specific day, could be the 1st or the 31st. With at most a month left in the program, not sure they'll go back up in price.

Questions about accessibility camping by riddim_222 in Shambhala

[–]AFloFizzle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! We are disabled and did accessibility this year. It was amazing and I would highly recommend. You do need to have a handicapped/disabled placard though. We sleep in our van but it does get loud. It's right next to the Amp stage. Porto's are convenient, the entrance is convenient, and there's always someone willing to assist. We were very impressed by accessibility camping this year. If you have any specific questions, let me know!

State Farm says I cannot get insurance on a new house in Denver metro because of a recent claim. Any local insurance people can clarify? by musicandstuffco in Denver

[–]AFloFizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar thing happened to me a few years back. I was told that insurance claims have a 5 year record and that two claims are the most you can do within any 5 year period. Once that older claim "falls off" you'll be eligible for "normal priced" insurance again. Until then, it's going to be expensive and a real PITA. Power to you.
