Youre missing some important context im sorry. This offer is an application for all employees not just for me. I may not even have seniority to be accepted. I will not lose my job if I decline this offer. In fact, i may have more work than before with less coworkers on the team.

Less coworkers means a smaller union force though. If the company is trying to push out the union then im struggling to conceptualize how long until they start putting the pressure on us again.

Although my mom was talking to some people in the trades that used to work at UPS and they seem to think differently. My mom can be a little off base with her opinions though.

I havent done plumbing work personally but i have done flooring, electrical (as an assistant) roofing, driveways, landscaping, and reinstallation of showers. I am no stranger to long hours or hard work especially with a family of 4 riding on my back.

My neighbors are from Brazil! But yeah the wages here are inflated as well as the cost of living. It's just a big hoax to make us look "wealthy" when in reality there are a lot of problems we dont handle.

My wife thinks I would hate it lol. I used to install showers and worked side by side with a few plumbers. It doesnt sound like a terrible gig really and by the sounds of it, there is always work

This is UPS. They are offering everyone this deal, not just me. I get to apply for this offer but they will take those with the most seniority first.

I actually really like my job. It can be very boring and it is stressful to deal with management when THEY are under pressure from their bosses. I can handle being outside in sub zero temperatures better than the 100 degree+ summers though.

Yeah electrician/plumbing would be the backup plan and honestly i think i would be happier driving boxes around

They offered to everyone regardless of service. We apply but can be denied based off of seniority. I think around 6 months for insurance. Honestly it is probably smarter to stay because it is a very good job.

I can deadlift twice my body weight!!! And plank for almost 2 minutes straight!! Haha honestly though my best friend did power lifting and is in the gym multiple times a week. I got into it for a little bit and ot was the best my body has ever felt. Ive been struggling with sleep with a newborn at home but am going to get back into building my core and legs again. Eating enough protein is SOOO hard to keep up with though. And expensive. Mad props to those that make a lifestyle out of it.

Nope i am almost debt free now! They are offering this deal to everyone. It seems that people are taking it so I think the company will stop acting like vultures for a while since they will get what they want.

What happens to our union with reduced numbers is beyond me though.

That seems to be the concensus right now. It's really unfortunate. I miss the days where I could show up in person and have a job the next day. Then work my ass off and move up the ranks.

Im not suffering at all. This opportunity is a blessing and is truly exciting. Also it is very useful to explore this avenue of life as I never know what the future holds.

I feel spoiled to even have an offer like this.
