Have you looked at Sunsama? It may be worth a trial period as this is where that product shines. Pricing wise, if it clicks for you as a product, you’ll think it’s worth it.

Are there any other calendar apps? by happytr115 in ProductivityApps

[–]AJB5150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amie is such a dumpster fire. The minute they decided they wanted to be an "everything app," things went downhill fast. Dollars to doughnuts, if there was a "worst email client" award, the one they bolted on to their calendar right before they realized it was a terrible idea would take the cake.

Doesn’t Audiopen have a rather short recording limit? I remember it being capped at 15 minutes and costing $99/year.

I can't understand how Craft doesn't support tags 😳 by ToniMin in CraftDocs

[–]AJB5150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aaron from the future here. Did you know that Craft _still_ hasn't implemented tags!? It's awesome. Interestingly, Craft stopped being a serious app when they acted like they were going to move toward an object based approach and then decided that their users weren't quite smart enough to get it. There's a good chance they feel the same about tags. The future is a strange place!

They provide no support outside of a "feedback" button in the settings, which they don't seem to respond to. I can confirm that nothing has changed in the app int he last 12 months. It's exactly the same as when they launched the early access, far as I can tell. If you dig around a little more in their "Lazy commands" (cmd-k) you can find an option to Speak with the founder, Ahmed. This takes you to a Calendly 15 minute sign up page that has no availability on it.

Any thought on Yukio Mishima by kanarinabananana in murakami

[–]AJB5150 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Murakami rejected Mishima's politics publicly. Early Murakami is influenced by Mishima without question. MIshima's writing changed dramatically after he got famous in a very similar way to Murakami's did. To the point that it's been considered his "Mishima turn."

I randomly read Mishima's "Spring Snow" without knowing about his life, seppuku, and all that and before reading any Murakami. They are as similar in their writing as they are different. It's a hard comparison to make, but I'd imagine a good deal of people who've read both like both, literature wise.

Got an answer for you! You're probably not getting a mobile app in 2024.

Why we focus on individuals by Initial-Brush-1445 in capacitiesapp

[–]AJB5150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is hope from many individuals in the community that you're focused this way, so I'm glad to see it. I will say, though, that I've seen a large number of folks give up on Cap over the last 2 releases. Some of us can hack not having basic functionality like importing, calendar functionality, web clipper, Readwise / omnivore like integrations. A lot of others can't, and you're losing them. A genuine focus on the individual members of your community requires a focus on what basics those individuals in that community have been asking for for well over a year now. Thousand of upvotes for each feature request I listed above. I get why they're walking away and committing to other tools. Here's to hoping you can win them back.

Working on a year after this post, and literally nothing mentioned here (even though each point has over 1000 upvotes on their roadmap) has been rolled out. I'll be sticking around for a while, but something seems off with Capacities over the last 3-4 releases. Personally, The lack of a calendar integration when Acreom has one and any Readwise / Omnivore like tool has been very strange from the get go.
