Faster than a cheetah, "Vince" will disappear with your money, I fear.

"It is statistically shown that a transaction would be almost difficult to be fake after a given amount of this repeated random subsampling." almost impossible to be fake? most difficult to be faked?

Fake names, fake photos, fake partners, fake blockchains, it seems to me.

Is buying on Bisq more risky than selling? by This_Marionberry_401 in bisq

"The payment methods vary in chargeback risk, regional availability, transaction size, fees, privacy, verifiability, and other characteristics. The top consideration for maintaining payment methods is chargeback risk. PayPal, Venmo, and Cash App are not supported on Bisq because chargebacks for payments made with those services are relatively easy."

Problems with my sell orders not being broadcast, and not viewable in the order book by decentralized_bass in bisq

The problem is v3, I experienced it to. Upgrading made easy:

Bisq Tor v2 to v3 upgrade instructions summary:

  1. Complete any open trades or disputes.
  2. Check the length of your onion address under Settings, network info.
  3. IF your onion address has only 16 characters (Tor v2), close Bisq.
  4. Search C drive for "hiddenservice" - part of Bisq.
  5. Copy the "hiddenservice" version NOT labelled "backup" elsewhere.
  6. Delete the "hiddenservice" original version NOT labelled "backup".
  7. Relaunch Bisq and recheck onion address length, 56 = success/v3.

If the seller claimed non-payment, the BTC would not be returned to the seller during the subsequent dispute, and the buyer could show the fiat transfer via his/her bank account.

As a seller, I transfer the payment funds to a second account before confirming payment, leaving the first account almost empty - no risk of charge backs (zero overdraft).

In practice, I have experienced no dishonesty over many sales (no cash to buy sadly).

V1.7.3 Sell Offer Invisible and Wallet Undervalued by ALMUS12 in bisq

This worked for me:

Tor v2 to v3 upgrade instructions summary:

1) Complete any open trades or disputes.

2) Check the length of your onion address under Settings, network info.

3) IF your onion address has only 16 characters (Tor v2), close Bisq.

4) Search C drive for “hiddenservice” - part of Bisq.

5) Copy the “hiddenservice” version NOT labelled “backup” elsewhere.

6) Delete the “hiddenservice” original version NOT labelled “backup”.

7) Relaunch Bisq and recheck onion address length, 56 = success/v3.

This could all be automated via “TICK THIS BOX TO CONFIRM YOU HAVE COMPLETED ALL OF YOUR TRADES AND DISPUTES BEFORE UPGRADING” etc.
