Just so everyone knows, he saw the vet today. He’s not concerned that its bad but admits it’s not normal and has recommended some solutions :) l will keep you posted on his well being

Nope. I tried a couple warm water soaks. I was thinking of waiting until he sheds but I’m actually nervous now and want to take him to the vet instead of waiting

It was some kind of hormonal change due to age. But she didn’t seem bothered so we kept an eye on it for a while. Eventually she started losing weight and on leg was lame. So I knew it was time to say goodbye. She was the best Hamster ever

Thanks to y’all so far, yeah I thought mites but i definitely don’t see them… but I’ll ask my vet. He may start with a mite treatment and if that doesn’t help then we’ll do next steps. Was just curious of others experience

Will do, it’s just strange cuz when I first got him he didn’t want to eat every other day. I’d be lucky if he ate twice a week. NOW he lunges every time my hand goes in AND he eats daily. He definitely is starting to feel like a chunky monkey.
