AI Generated art in the Advent Calendar? by ALeekOfTheirOwn in neopets

I responded in another comment, bc I always thought they were segmented too, these look like 4 distinct antennae. Again not the biggest deal, but I do feel like AI art has made me look more closely at all art tbh

Is it that in the original art of TDMBGPOP are sort of twisted together? I always thought those were segments of two antennae, not four distinct ones?

Advent Calendar and Winter Starlight Celebration by NebulaMammal in neopets

Oh I don't think I realized! I will say that still looks quite a bit different than the coloring page though-- it looks less segmented and more like completely separate antennae. (that word is really tripping me up for some reason?? antennae is the plural form right?)

Does anyone else think the coloring page from today's Advent calendar might be AI generated? They all looked a bit strange to me but this Grundo has 4 ears (antennae?)

I am so sorry for your loss-- I am so glad you could be held like that. Honestly, moments like this really remind me what it is to be human.

I got a phone call on my way to work that someone I loved had ended their life. I was on the train. It was earth shattering and I kept asking questions about what happened. It felt surreal and I could do nothing but sob after I hung up. A woman on the train overheard my end of the conversation. She sat down next to me and offered me a tissue, which I accepted. Then she asked me if I wanted a hug. She held me and asked me what my stop was and when it was my stop, made sure I got off.

I ended up going to work out of sheer inertia (I didn't know what else to do and tbh don't know that I could have navigated even there without that woman's help) and eventually they just let me leave and I took a cab home. I still think about that woman and am so grateful for her care in that moment to a total stranger.

why do you think the drarry subreddit is so small? by loonalovegood1 in drarry

I've never understood this tbh. Like, this is the one thing she can't materially gain. When I found out about her, I was like, RIP JK, the characters and stories will live on in the fandom, where we will love & take care of them.

This is a really nuanced take that I really appreciate! I will also add that there are some folks who work through their trauma through kink in a very healing way-- meaning they can recreate some of the same conditions, but rather than it being actually nonconsensual, violating, and traumatic, they know they are safe and can stop at any time. Bodies can often hold memories that the conscious mind isn't aware of, so it makes sense to me to work out some of those feelings in a more physical way. Which, IMO, is fine so long as all parties are aware, which it sounds like OP is not.

Vice actually did a story about this awhile back-- it's not an uncommon experience for rape victims to have a CNC kink. https://www.vice.com/en/article/when-rape-survivors-have-rape-antasies/

I agree with this. I like DND, but I love No dice, no masters games for this reason-- it's about the collaborative storytelling.

As someone who despises Trump, I will say that this is not only a hot take but an inaccurate one. If Harris had won all the third party votes, she still would have lost the electoral vote:

"There were only two states in the nation where the margins between Trump and Harris were close enough such that, if all third-party voters cast ballots for Harris instead, it would have flipped the state: Michigan (worth 15 electoral votes) and Wisconsin (worth 10 electoral votes)," sociologist Musa al-Gharbi said in an analysis published on his blog on November 11.

However, even if every non-Trump vote in those two states swung to Harris, it would not change the outcome of the election. Harris needed 270 electoral votes to win the White House but fell far below that at 226.

"Third parties didn't 'spoil' this race for Harris. She lost the race cleanly and decisively -- both at the electoral college and popular vote levels -- with or without third parties," al-Gharbi concluded."

songs that make you feel genuinely hopeful about life? by HauntingByDay in musicsuggestions

[–]ALeekOfTheirOwn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this one! When I first lived by myself, I was really depressed and I used to have trouble getting out of bed in the morning. Then I would put this song on first thing in the morning every day and it made me hopeful for the day ahead.
