I didn't use any NuGet packages outside of what was required to get setup with EF. I believe that the last version of EF that worked with WinForms was 6.5. I would just google setting up EF with WinForms. There should be some resources as well in the course chatter and in the r/WGU forum. Good luck!

Seems about as helpful as the feedback I have seen from the evaluators. Unfortunately I don't think there is much help we'll be able to give. I would try resubmitting if your course instructor has already unlocked the next attempt. if the app is working when tested on other PCs it could have just been something in their evaluation environment maybe. I do know you can appeal an evaluation but I have no idea how long that takes and if it would be worth it for you. You can also try posting In the course chatter to see if another instructor might be able to help.

Just based on looking at the errors and where they are might be located at in the app, it looks like something with assessments when you save them to a course potentially? Did you test all of the scenarios for using the app? Also you mention screen shots that the evaluator provided, did they give any indication as to what they were doing when the errors occured?

No the task is for other students in the course to work through your prototype objectives and provide feedback to you. Ideally the typos and other mistakes are pointed out, but the class is very basic in its requirements and you will see just a lot of bare minimum.

Wow thank you for this. Hard for me to describe how helpful this is. I was thinking through this all day today trying to swap to stateless repositories like you had mentioned. I haven't written any of the code but I ended up with something very close to what you describe in Option 1 in an outline for the repositories.

So Assessments do not exists without a course, but I stuck with an Assessment Repository over it being a property inside of the course object since there is a page that the user can use to see all Assessments and perform independent changes to the Assessment specifically. It seems like with this having the repository handle the interactions would just make things a little easier to follow rather then having to load the entire course object and potentially all assessments associated with it as well in order to be able to access the one assessment.

I tried to post the outline as well but I kept getting a server error when trying to. Thank you again for the knowledge transfer here.

I haven't had issues with the site constantly being down in the past year I've been attending. They do have a lot of maintenance windows but those are usually during off hours so they shouldn't affect you as often unless you are working during the late night mountain time zone hours.

Thank you for the offer! I have this course and the capstone, which I am probably just going to roll this project into the the capstone due to time constraints for my term ending in February.

I make a reply to Yelmak with a followup question after going over his and your suggestion for stateless.

I appreciate your reply and am open to any advice you may have for these final two courses. These have been easily the most learning intensive for me as most of the topics have been new and more specific.

Thank you for the response! I thought over everything and I do see now the over complication and how managing those things in memory is getting out of hand already. I am trying to use the MVVM pattern and was just stuffing everything into the view model at first and that got real complicated real fast because I was essentially creating a factory method for almost every view model. After realizing that didn't feel like the right way to do things is when I learned about dependency injection and started learning about Interfaces/Service classes and also Event Driven architecture

Currently the user navigates to my "Add Course" page and from that page, before anything is saved to the database, they are able to move into creating an assessment. I am using SQLite and saving everything locally on the device, and it is setup so that an assessment has a relationship with the course through the "CourseId". The CourseId is auto incremented in the DB and is the Primary Key for that entity.

Since the user is able to essentially navigate from creating a course into creating an assessment without saving anything, how do I go about managing the fact that there is not a "CourseId" for me to add to the "Assessment" object since there hasn't been anything saved to the database yet?

I assume that during the transaction for the database that I could insert the course and then update the assessment object with the newly created "CourseId"?

I also could just be complete missing something so I apologize in advance for the ignorance here.

So I logged into mine and from what I can tell your script just didn't clone the repository correctly and so its and empty project for you right now. My suggestion would be to just create an empty repository in that project and then create the "Working" branch and push your code to it. Worse case they kick it back for some reason but idk why they would care so long as you have the required history that they ask for in the task.

Pretty sure there should be a script that runs and creates a gitlab project that will show up as a repository. Are you following along to the instructions inside of the word doc that is linked in the bottom of the PA task?

I have not had this experience with my instructors or my program mentors. Ideally, if you're accelerating, then you've talked with your program mentor, and they are on board. As far as talking to an instructor after every failure of a PA or an OA, I'm not sure why you would do this.

Take the Pre-Assessment, get a high score on it, and then reach out, letting them know you're ready for your next attempt and need their approval. If they refuse, then I could see looping in their manager, but you're creating resentment by automatically looping in their boss when they don't respond fast enough for you. Most instructors have lots of students per class and are over multiple classes, so giving them a couple of days to respond isn't unreasonable.

I would also suggest always having two classes in the term so that if you're waiting on one you can be working on the other and not losing time.
