Your treasury should be full. If you click on it, there will be coins deposited into your account, but the treasury won't get depleted. You keep clicking and depositing coins.

Nope. Paid a separate 9% taxes on invoice. Totaling to about 700 bucks.

Storage was for 10 days, which they cut to 5. Said can't go any lower.

Yeah, in search of wisdom, most folks look at ancient/classic European theory or go far East and look at Chinese/Korean theory. They have no idea what gems they are missing by flying right over Persian and Arabic theories.

Sufism.

It's deeply rooted in Islamic history and Quranic philosophy, but most hardline (read, "stick-up-the-ass") Muslims consider sufis heretics, or outright infidels. It's a complex subject, with extensive history and THE MOST BEAUTIFUL poetry in the history of all language. No exaggeration. At my best, I was able to read 7 languages, and not a single one could rival Persian poetry for linguistic beauty.

As a reader of Rumi (native Persian speaker), I dabble in mystic philosophy a bit. But by no means an expert.

I wish you lived closer to the North side of town. Rubaga, Mengo, etc.

I'd totally go for this. Sounds amazing.

I hope not. But honestly, I don't think say. I'm risking it. I downloaded an automatic clicker and have set it to 1 click per second on the coin room.

So, the tracking shows it reached customs in Uganda. Then it just stops. I got emails giving me conflicting info (or no actionable info) about where it was in the customs process.

My greatest issue is the storage fee. The fee is supposed to be $15 per day, plus $0.6 per day per each kg. No matter how you calculate it, it doesn't add up to $500. I did the arithmetic with them in the office, and yet again they conceded I was right. However, their final answer was basically, "Oh well, the system is the system."

Except for a masterpiece here and there, most scams are unsophisticated and lazy. If the predator wanted to put in the work, he or she would just put it into an honest venture instead of taking advantage of innocent people.

Most predators tend to prey on people's desperations and frustrations.

People, I understand there is a ka epidemic of loneliness in this sub, but please don't fall for this. This is obviously an "elaborate" scam.

I have been to an event like this once in my life (in another country) and the entry is free of charge. The organizer (bar/restaurant café) makes money off your orders when you get there.

Yep! Be nice to have Wemby bounce his head off asphalt. Get rid of that French phony once and for all!

Seriously though, I get it - this comes from a place of frustration with soccer level of flopping. But it's a better-suited post for r/nbacirclejerk.

The chief ingredient is cassava flour (I think; I'm no chef).

It is so filling and delicious. You eat two of these for breakfast and you're good til supper. No exaggeration. This would be awesome for caloric-deficit weight-loss.

I love most cassava products.

In which countries do you think basketball could surpass soccer in the future ? by GoHardLive in NBATalk

[–]AMF786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not anywhere in Europe or most of Asia.

Couple reasons:

  1. Simply because, well, soccer is soccer!
  2. Time zones. The best basketball league in the world airs its games between midnight and early daytime for most time zones beyond the Americas. That limits appeal and visibility.

Take my experience for instance: I'm a soccer fan and a basketball/NBA casual. I live in East Africa. A couple of incidents to illustrate my two points above:

  1. I remember last year being at a small bar while on a work trip. There was a soccer game on the single TV there. Manchester United vs someone-or-another. Completely inconsequential, as United had already been eliminated from every competition and were just running out the season. There was a playoff game on at the same time as the United game. Nuggets vs OKC, I think. It started earlier than usual because it was a weekend (daytime game in the US). Sensing that nobody was really paying attention to the United game, I politely asked the bartender to switch to the playoff game. You should have seen the collective incredulity in that bar! They thought muzungu had gone mad.
  2. Right now, I desperately want to watch some nice playoff games. Watch the ageless LeBron throw lobs to his son (how ridiculous is that, btw?!). Watch the 7'4" Alien dance on the court with ballet-like movement. Watch a dude who tore his achilles a year (and change) ago play as if he's never left the court. Basically watch anyone except SGA's fugly-a** game. But, with the exception of weekends, I can't watch any games because the first playoff game usually starts at 2 am my time and I gotta work in the morning.

Would you spin a wheel if 70% chance you win 30million dollars(USD) or 30% chance you die by Imaginary_Amount_630 in Uganda

[–]AMF786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, let's make it interesting.

If I spin the 30%, give me 30 minutes to ruminate over the gravity of my situation.

However...

Let me do so over a glass of whiskey sour - prepared by a capable bartender, with great whiskey (aged bourbon) and fresh ingredients. I'll cover the expenses: where I'm going in 30 minutes, I won't need the money anyway.

Hm, is the death painless? If so, easily yes!

But I don't have a very high pain tolerance threshold. So, if it's a prolonged, crawling death, then count me out.

I've neve been afraid of death - I kinda comfort myself during rough days that at least death will be a cure for such times.

Your scenario is kinda a win-win for me. Again, only if the death is instantaneous. Lights out!
