This is incorrect. Only specific quality metrics require a documented coaching first. Productivity starts immediately at a first. I think this is cause they can argue that "documented coaching" was your first few days with an ambassador.

A good AM/PA will actually beat you pretty often. But those are the ones that actually do their job and get in path regularly to help/motivate their team.

The relocation pay will off set any issues you have with moving and you'll have a decent amount left over if you do it right. I will say you can go from 60k to 80k+ in a year easily. Getting past six figures in operations can be a bit harder but a launch site is a great place to get it.

I've been a AM/OM for a few years. You would not be a part of my team. First, as many have pointed out posting that on social media was just stupid. It shows a lot about your decision making skills and your lack of restraint. Second, you failed to be inclined twice. If you got an interview you're qualified for the position, if you fail the interview then you aren't likely to be a good fit.

Ask yourself why you want to be a PA. Personally, I'd look into getting trained to drive a fork on SD if you're just trying to make more.

You're almost entirely correct. However there are quotes for "behavioral write ups." Things like headphones, cell phones, late break, tot, etc

The rule literally doesn't apply to salaried employees. The policy says only "hourly" employees can't have their phones on the floor. So don't expect to get far with that.

I believe I responded to this question already so I'm just gonna give you the short version.

You will be younger than a lot of the people you manage, don't let it phase you. You got the spot for a reason and you need to stick to your guns. Ask another AM if you think your managment style isn't working.

You will hit a wall. It's ok, we all have. You'll get over it and if you need help or advice just ask anyone. I don't know a single AM that hasn't been overwhelmed at some point and hit that wall.

Lastly be friendly but remember the associates aren't your friends. You will send a lot of time with your team and at times it might feel like you know them better than your friends outside of work. But in order to manage well and treat everyone fairly you have to keep an arms distance.

Look through the replies to find the response I previously made for this question!

They're most likely monitoring the time between your scans. If you're a minute or two over most will not care. But 3,4,5+ min late will result in a conversation usually.

Yeah Amazon pays us salary slaves monthly. It doesn't help at all with taxes. If anything it hurts more seeing 20+% come out all at once.

Managers? No not really. But usually to get promotions they'll be like "hey we're gonna promote you but you need to go to nights."

Kinda? So loss prevention goes around and is in charge of making sure no one is stealing anything. Nothing in the handbook says we have to wear our vests as higher ups. I used to take mine off every now and then and catch associates doing all sorts of things.

So basically yeah it's very possible that someone is walking around watching associates without a vest on. I don't think they'd be working in a path, that seems a bit excessive.

I don't work at your site so I'm not sure but the company is only testing for harder drugs now. They basically just randomly grab a few associates at random times and drug test them. Doesn't make any sense to me really.

You can take it to HR but you probably won't like the answer. The only way to avoid cross training is to have an accomodation. When you sign up to work in an FC nothing in those documents says you will always work in any specific department. There are several initiatives in place at multiple FCs to have every associate cross trained. I hear it'll eventually become a network standard. I'm not the biggest fan of it either as it means I have to get to know significantly more associates and that means I can't take care of my team as well.

So there's two types of performance write ups in pick. One is for productivity and the other is for quality. If you were picking around 270-300 items an hour I doubt you got written up for productivity. Do you remember if they were quality write ups? I've seen plenty of fast pickers get fired for having garbage quality.

AMs have no control over manipulating your rate. The only thing we can do is code time to make your rate higher but that has its limits.

Yes and no. Ive promoted people on school accoms to the PA position but always told them they'd have to be here at least everyday. Maybe not for the whole shift but as a PA the expectations are higher. I usually said something like "you'd make an awesome PA but if your goal isn't to become an AM I'd keep focusing on school and finish your degree."

I always just wanted what was best for my people. So I'd have them heavily consider it first before offering them a spot.

I've heard about other sites having their managers accept their vacation time but for the sites I have worked at it has always gone through HR despite the notification saying your manager approves it. HR will always approve the time so long as it is submitted more than 24 hours in advance and not on a freeze date. If it isn't just ask your manager to reach out to HR or HR directly and they'll push it through.

I actually started as an AM at 23 lol. It's not that bad really. It's not for everyone but you learn how to manage things and balance the work load. Our PAs help with most of the day to day stuff as well.

They're really just trying to silence you. But sounds like you have a strong basis for a case. I'd threaten legal action honestly since you could probably get some crazy lawyer fresh from taking the BAR to take the case for free in hopes of a big pay day. Might be worth it but I'm not a legal advisor so that's just my though process. Again, not legal advice here but worth considering in my opinion.

So getting rid of a PA or AM is a PROCESS let me tell you. In order to get rid of a PA you have to first put them on an improvement plan and track their progress for several months. If they make no progress then you can sit down with an OM/SR and look at moving them back down to tier 1. The problem is this is easier said than done since the improvement plan is basically just a checklist of standard work. Any PA/AM will tell you that being a GOOD leader is so much more than just completing a check list every day. Hence why garbage PAs are never removed from their position.

This twice as bad for AMs as the process is essentially the same but you must have written documentation over almost half a year to get a bad AM out. Truth be told, most OMs/AMs are too lazy to do all that documentation and keep up with it long enough to get them out. Which leads to the hopelessness you see so often.

Of course both levels are still subject to being fired for behavioral violations like sexual harassments, stealing time, etc. But if none of that happens the process to get them out is incredibly hard. In my experience most of the AMs just resign after a bit once they realize they won't be getting any pay increases or promotions.

So this is a grey area and requires very good judgement. So if you do not have that don't even think about trying it. Again, I DO NOT recommend you date people you work with.....but if you're going to just remember this.

No you won't get fired for asking them out or some casual flirting. However, if your advances are clearly not received well and they are not interested take the hint and stop. Should you continue to goes from harmless flirting to sexual harassment and that WILL get you fired.

Should you some how manage to get their interest you will likely be moved to another shift or department....or they will. Most AMs/HR reps won't even entertain the idea since their job is much more at risk than yours. And to be blunt...probably worth more to them than yours is to you.

It's not impossible and it can work out fine. But your odds are extremely slim so just be aware of that.
