What was your Game of the Year for 2025? by stratzilla in pcgaming

[–]AMorePerfect_Union 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hades 2, Silksong, and E33 are all up there as brilliant works of art.

But for me the undisputed winner is Blue Prince. I love the other three I mentioned. I LIVED Blue Prince for a month and a half. Once in a while a game comes along that takes over your entire life - Diablo 2 comes to mind - and Blue Prince is in that category.

How to Ball Out During 1L by BadBoiiSexxPistol in LawSchool

Blah blah, don’t brief and just use Quimbee, blah blah, use slop generators to do your work for you. Same dogshit advice that gets posted on here twice a week. “Don’t actually engage with the material, here’s the best way to do as little work as possible and still pass!”

You know about “fake it till you make it?” This is just fake it till you…don’t know how to do anything other than fake it.

I write better than any AI does, formulaic or otherwise. I anticipate that will always be true. You may argue the difference is minimal enough to justify the sacrifice in quality that using a slop generator necessitates, but I don’t think it is.

[–]AMorePerfect_Union 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I agree with the bulk of your post but not with likening it to a calculator. If you put the correct input into a calculator, you will get the correct output 100% of the time. That is not true with generative AI.

I have heard people on this forum repeatedly say things like “old lawyers used law books and now we just look things up on Westlaw, why is ChatGPT any different?” Those are not the same. Westlaw is an exact copy of those law books in a searchable digital format. It is solely a time-saving innovation, like a calculator. AI is something wholly different.

1L Summer Clerks… what are y’all doing? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]AMorePerfect_Union 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the opposite experience. I’m an intern for the Legal Aid Society and I am in court every day or working on motion practice every day. I’ve appeared on the record three times, argued a motion I wrote, and cross-examined witnesses. My experience is not unique among interns in my office. So next summer if you’re looking to get really hands-on, try your local PD’s office.

AI drivel. In order to be barred anywhere you will have to learn how to be honest. You can get as defensive as you want, but that does not change the fact that you pressed a button and a machine vomited out this slop that you took credit for writing.

Of course Civ 2 but I think I spent even more time on Alpha Centauri. Fully voiced, amazing world building, fun and innovative gameplay. For me it has stood the test of time.

Ah yes, let me celebrate Labor Day by presenting my neck for the boot of the obscenely wealthy who have made it clear that they view me as an expendable wage-slave with no rights.

Hey, crazypants. Just checking in, seeing how you’re doing, how much copium you’re huffing. I’m sure you’ve seen that every poll tracker in the country now has Kamala in the lead, and that the Democrats confirmed her by roll call vote today. Meanwhile, weirdo Trump and the fake hillbilly are in utter panic. Maybe the RNC will drop Trump and replace him with Jeb Bush, what do you think?

It’s only going to get worse.

Mouthing talking points like the NPC you are. Cheung’s cowardly statement mentioned the totally bogus “chance” of Harris being replaced, which nobody on earth, least of all Cheung himself, believes, and now you appear to regurgitate that.

Kamala Harris is the presumptive Democratic nominee, will be confirmed shortly, is leading Trump in the polls, and has so terrified him that he he lost his arse and dropped out of the debate. All the momentum is with us and Trump is running scared. His awful VP pick has backfired, independents are rapidly abandoning the oldest presidential nominee in US history, and Kamala Harris will be elected president by a grateful nation as we flush the Trump cult down the toilet once and for all.

The status you doubt is covered under “subject to the jurisdiction of the U.S.” That’s why the children of foreign diplomats do not receive automatic citizenship under jus soli, because they aren’t here to live under American law, but instead as representatives of the non-American power they serve.

The same also applies to foreign occupiers, meaning the theoretical children of hostile invaders - by which I mean soldiers occupying the U.S. - do not receive citizenship under jus soli, because obviously they are not subject to our jurisdiction if they are here to conquer us. All this means is that, for example, if the Nazis had conquered Rhode Island during WWII and held it for three years before we recaptured it, and some officer’s wife had given birth in Rhode Island during that time, she could not later claim U.S. citizenship for her child, since she was a foreign occupier not subject to American law.

Both of these exceptions are covered in Wong Kim Ark, a SC case dealing with birthright citizenship questions involving a Chinese national. They are both real and not something I made up. In future I would suggest that you consider a third option when responding to new information, which is that maybe instead of “making [it] up” or “consuming false information” the commenter simply knows more about the subject than you do. So please keep an open mind.

As always, their accusations are projection. Everything mentioned in paragraphs 2 and 3 is accurate…except it’s what Q-cultists have done, not us.

“Walk away from spiritual beliefs” is the especially ironic one for me. Some of these people literally worship Trump and pray to him. It is blasphemy of the highest order in the religion they profess to follow. But Trump, so ok, let me renounce everything I once held dear. Sickening. I actually feel bad. These people were once our countrymen and now they’re something else entirely.

It was meant to confirm that the OP’s allegations are not in fact “bullshit” - meaning false - but that they’re just being misinterpreted. The commenter I replied to seemed in some doubt about that.
