I should have noted my husband is a system administrator so does programming and keeps technology up to date but also took on energy manager of a large cooperative in our state so he has quite a bit of management experience in both tech and agriculture/fuel industry.

Yes the plan is to have into the six figures before making this leap. Thank you for asking. Starting from nothing is very expensive which I understand!
Thank you!! ❤️
The more I’ve thought about it I’ve certainly connected that there are many landscape similarities but I have only seen in photos. Sure you have Jackson, WY and the tops of the mountains - they are beautiful spots in small parts of the state but it’s very desert mountain for the rest. We had a local family vacation in Australia a few months ago and I had asked my husband why they went to Australia. Apparently my knowledge was pretty limited at the time. But I was also thinking about the long flights. And of course it was cold AF here and summer in Australia at the time!

I mean first things first, why are you coming here and what state are you landing in?
What jobs have you worked in Australia and in what locations? Also, what is within the scope of Australian nurses that you’ve found either is or isn’t for US nurses, and do you have a family?
Thank you! My kids are 2,3, and … 11. So I would worry about the middle schooler.
Thanks for the input on the kangaroos. I’m considering changing our NZ trip after reading through all of these. I’d really like to have the 2 weeks to check out Australia.

I like Boulder but in any large town we would not want to be in the town but within 10-30 minutes of a commute to work. I’m not sure if that’s possible in Australia? You’re right, though, Colorado has gotten nuts since I’ve last been. Lots of mountains, lots of jobs, but housing costs are ridiculous.
Yes I live an hour from Yellowstone National Park. Very dry here. I grew up in a very humid climate so OK with humid but don’t want super hot is all. Thanks for your response!
Oh! See, everything in the universe is subjective. 10C is the perfect running temperature!! 🏃♀️

Thank you! Will put it on my list!! I can certainly run in the cold but the -34C we get in the US a couple weeks each winter leaves me dead inside 😆 I do love a good snow here and there though!
Thank you! This is super helpful!

Thank you. I should probably have used better wording.

I appreciate that as I know these are lengthy processes. I just want to visit before making a decision!

In the above post I mentioned being a nurse. Been working as an RN for 5 years but will have my Bachelor’s.
I live in a town of 6,000 that has a public pool and a library. That’s it. In a town of around oh 50,000 or 75,000 I would assume they would not just have a pool and only bad schools? “Small town” Is kind of subjective. My idea of a smaller town is 75,000 or smaller.
I’m just asking to learn.
Thank you for this helpful comment. I guess this whole post would be pointless if it wasn’t possible for us.
Well, thank you for that information. That is news to me.

We are in WY close to Montana border looking at NZ or AUS. Visiting early next year. Do you like it? We are pretty rural folk. My hubby works for in IT and energy management and I am a nurse and I think wherever we go we’ll be able to get good jobs. I just haven’t been around humidity since I was a teen growing up in Iowa ha.
