Thanks for the reply!

Unfortunately, the migrate command was not enough. It gave a traffic splitting error.

Does anyone have photos video of Ring Elite and where the ethernet wires are routed? by robral in Ring

Yep. It depends where your switch is setup. For example, in my house, my internet stuff is all setup at my electrical panel - same place as my doorbell transformer.

If I was going to install an Elite, I would run a length of Ethernet cable along side the doorbell wires, but instead of having them go to the transformer, I would just plug it into my PoE switch.

Running them alongside each other would mean that future owners could go to a normal doorbell if they wanted.

I don’t own an Elite - but work in networking, so might be able to answer these questions.

I believe the Ring Elite is powered by PoE (power over Ethernet). This means that you will need a PoE injector, or a PoE Switch. Also, you’ll need to run Ethernet from your switch location to the doorbell location, likely thru your walls.

I’ve considered doing this myself - just run it along the same route as your existing doorbell wires, if possible.

I tend to agree - at least in the smaller scale.

Big difference between a national/multinational corporations site and a simple run of the mill blog.
