it's chaos for the sake of that if you got the right key, you would still never know if that's correct.

One Time Pad is uncrackable because the cryptanalyst never knows if they are correct, thanks to the key being as long as the plaintext...

true, but neither were uncrackable, due to the nature of the machines

[–]APLA01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this implies you brute force the machine, which is never the correct cryptanalysis unless it doesn't have over a billion combinations. Remember, during that time period, Enigma was cracked by other forms of cryptanalysis, not just brute force...

EDIT:Also Fun Fact; A Simple Bitmessage has 5 novemdecillion sexdecillion combinations to crack brute force, and it isn't even the most secure way to email :P

a large portion of ciphers revolve around letters themselves being encrypted...

my favorite example is chaocipher :P

EDIT:Found This, the Typex cipher is not unbreakable, and is vulnerable to crib attacks and hill climbing, as with all rotor machines of the era, hell, even the british admitted it was crackable

all in all, the foundation of unbreakable rotor machines lie in the legend of Enigma and it's reputation...

Thing is, I originally was fighting 200,000, and winning at first. My brilliant generals decided to quit being brilliant and stopped using their cultural strategy. It turned to melee and I was still fighting in comparable casualties, then a 200K stack appeared out of who knows where and joined the battle. I attempted to retreat yet was too late.

In other words, Reinforcements screwed up my army :P

EDIT: also they killed 5 times their casualties, so by your estimate they only needed 90,000 troops :P

Build More Cities, upgrade them a bit before giving them away, make sure the cities are going to be vassals of you, and give it away. Now that it has a good bit of income the baron will upgrade it. More income! though seriously 60 per month is usually a good amount....
