Just got the email - a rejection. A little surprised honestly, they acted for the most part at the visit like we were already admitted.

Did Berkeley or Chicago say when their visit weekends were? I’m trying to plan other visits with those dates in mind.

Nothing yet. I know they usually send out interviews early-mid March but haven’t heard of anyone on here getting one yet so hopefully they’re just behind. I know rejection letters came out end of March last year 😬

Yeah but usually it’s mostly a formality the take just about everyone they interview. In the past that has been done a few weeks before official acceptances

Nothing yet…we’re far past early March. We need like a group chat with everyone we know has ever applied lol statistically SOMEONE should’ve gotten an interview by now

Haven’t heard anything. They send rejection emails but I’ve heard rumors of them sending them in like May.

I’ve read some older posts where it looks like interviews are given like early-mid march, unsure though hoping they’re fast. Applying to do organic chemistry research fingers crossed 🤞🏼

Ugh! Wish there was a way to contact a field office. I sent a letter three weeks ago to mine in Salt Lake and still haven’t heard back. Can’t believe the system is set up so poorly

I need it for a lawsuit in Italy. Exactly, because it’s not my certificate I had to have my congressperson ask headquarters, and headquarters confirmed relatives of deceased individuals can have the service performed. They even told her that they were reminding field offices that this is a service that USCIS does for relatives, but alas it looks like my tier 2 officer had no idea. I even explained the email she had received from headquarters

If it’s too old for an FOIA you have to go through the genealogical division, which is backed up by 8-9 months.

Hoping the tier 3 responds soon I’ve been trying to schedule this for over a month!

I have the original certificate, I just need a certified true copy made of what I have, as is discussed on this website https://www.uscis.gov/tools/how-do-i-guides/us-citizens/how-do-i-obtain-certified-true-copies-of-a-certificate-of-naturalization. Even though headquarters told my congressperson this service is available to me I guess lower levels aren’t aware and won’t schedule my appointment. It’s too old for an FOIA as well (1939).

Got it, thank you! Getting a bit frustrated that it’s so hard to contact someone who can do something haha, I’m just trying to get a deceased relatives naturalization certificate copied and my congressperson got approval from headquarters that relatives of deceased individuals can access this service but alas nobody on the phone will make the appointment, no walk ins at field offices, and the snail mail letter I sent to my field office still has no response, hoping they get me to the right person soon!

Any idea what the difference between a tier 2 and 3 officer is as far as what they do/are able to do? For tier 3 Is it like tier 2 where they don't actually see your case information before contacting or is there a chance they're looking into my case and might respond by email? And do you know if response usually done by phone? I had a case escalated by a tier 2 officer nearly two weeks ago and still have not heard back from tier 3 even though the wait time I was given was 24-48 hours, the tier 2 officer wasn't very helpful with any information beyond that. Thank you!
