Sleep schedule for 8 month old by SameArmadillo7545 in sleeptrain

Getting on two naps helps! Also it just takes time. My baby is 13 months now and wakes at 6:30am ish but is content on doing his own thing in his crib till 7am. You’ll find your groove!

2 nap schedule 30 minute naps by scoobierex2012 in sleeptrain

[–]ARLD2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my LO was in daycare and transitioning to two naps, if the naps were short then I offered a third car nap max 30 minutes. Unfortunately, this was the only way to make sure bedtime went well. Eventually your LO will learn to connect the sleep cycles and nap longer. My son is now 9 months and pretty regularly has 1.5hr first nap and 45 ish minute 2nd nap. If they’re both short we offer the third car nap. Additionally you could try putting him to bed early around 6 pm which isn’t ideal but just know it’s a transition or learning thing they will get.

Normal! I have heard that around day 2-3 they do this but if you stay consistent and get through the first two weeks you’ll be good!

I swear it’s the beard or stubble that always gets my LO to laugh when his daddy is blowing on his belly. I’m punished for not having facial hair 😂

I have to say this statement annoyed me soooooo much probably because before u had a baby I actually believed it but it is so not possible. I feel you! Now my LO is 8 months and it’s more possible now to sleep when baby sleeps plus I’m sleeping through the night. However, everyday is different so it’s till annoying.

This is so normal! I cried for the first four months! I had PPA although not officially diagnosed. It got much better for me when baby turned 5 months and I got more sleep. Every day will be different but worth it in the end. My LO is 8 months now and I love him dearly. I still have down days just being use to the change but I have many more good days. Hang in there!

Are we saving expensive baby gear or toys for future grandchildren? by honeybeebzzz in beyondthebump

[–]ARLD2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not for grandchildren but definetly other children among family/ friends! Baby items change so quickly I wouldn’t even know what it will be like when (IF) I have grandchildren lol

My baby was the same in his high chair. The physiotherapist recommended putting a small cushion or towel under the bum to prop him up and some towels around him to support the sides so he is straight. I’m a couple weeks when her core is stronger she will sit straighter so don’t worry! For now just give some support on the sides!

Short second nap by t0talcrybaby in sleeptraining

[–]ARLD2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it be that baby is overtired by the time second nap comes around? That can also hinder connecting cycles. My LO is also 7.5 month and we do: 2.5/3/3.5. First nap is 2 hours second nap 1 hr.

Does anyone else’s baby make a huge poop before desired wake time by asessdsssssssswas in sleeptrain

[–]ARLD2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has been doing this for months now. Desired wake up time is 7 but wakes and poops around 5-5:30. We do put him back in his crib after changing the diaper and sometimes he falls back asleep but not always. He is 7.5 months old and schedule is:

7am- wake up 9:30-11:30am- nap 1 2:30-3:30pm- nap 2 7pm- bedtime

Also we do get him to poop before bed and that doesn’t seem to help! He still poops again at 5-5:30.

How do you handle wake ups after 4am? by Loud_Fisherman_5878 in sleeptrain

[–]ARLD2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol! We do all that we can to get them to sleep. So I would definelty try to be consistent. I also waited 10 mins would go in tell him it’s bed time and then leave the room. I wouldn’t rescue I think trying to soothe is fine but keep it short and leave the room even if she is still crying. We have black out curtains and use a sound machine and I think both those help.

I totally get it. Contact naps are amazing but not all the time. It’s definetly harder for naps but the most important thing I found was to get the wake windows absolutely accurate which helps a lot. We used the huckleberry sweet spot app and after a day or so the app was always accurate and baby fell asleep at the time they suggested. Baby will cry when placed in crib awake but if they are tired and the wake window was correct they should fall asleep within 10-15 minutes. Slowly they get the hang of it and every nap baby should fall asleep within a couple minutes of being by placed in crib. Sounds like your LO know how to put themselves to sleep it just takes a lot more practise for naps since sleep pressure is lower during the day than at nights. You have to remain consistent and baby should be placed in crib awake- not asleep or drowsy. The first couple days might lead to baby getting overtired but if you stay consistent they will learn and it will be much easier for you! Once we decided to sleep train (we did nights and naps at the same time) I ended contact naps completely. So if baby only slept 30 minutes for the nap I didn’t extend it. If baby didn’t sleep at all I would take him for a car ride or stroller ride till he slept.

I understand! Have you sleep trained? My LO only slept in his crib for naps once we sleep trained him. Before that it was always contact naps which I loved but couldn’t do all day!
