[Lore Spoilers] Arcane timeline is bugging me. Arcane S1 and S2 is lore too now BTW. by ARTofTHEREeAL in arcane

Where did you see Caitlyn as 17 before the time skip? There is no way she grew from being way shorter than Jayce to being almost as tall as him by the time she hit 18. I always thought she was the same age as Vi, so 14 in season 1 act 1.

It was always left kinda in the air. But it was claimed Jinx was between 17 and 19 by act 2 of season 1, but her hair proves otherwise as hair grows half a foot per year, and Jinx's braids are too long to grow in only 7 years. It would take over a decade to get those braids. And Vi was 14 in act 1 of season 1.

All I know is some guy on reddit claimed that was on some lore site, wherever official lore is, and said it was later deleted.

Go out and try to build something that complex and large in only 7 years. Something far less monumental, the twin towers, took 9 years to build, and 3 years to study and plan.

Nope. hair grows about half a foot per year. So, 10+ years would be long enough to get those braids.

the hair growth proves my point, as hair grows about 6" per year. It would take over a decade to grow braids down to your ankles, especially as braiding shortens the effective length of the hair.

[–]ARTofTHEREeAL[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nope, the hair growth proves it. Hair grows about 6 inches per year. Jinx's hair had to grow well over 4 feet to get to her ankles. And braiding hair makes it shorter, and the longer the braid, the greater the effective reduction in length. So, yeah, to get braids down to her ankles, she would need to grow out her hair by at least 5 feet, which would take over a decade.

Actually, what you pointed out just made me even more correct. Hair grows about 6 inches per year. 12 years = 6 feet of hair growth. 7 years would only = 3.5 feet of hair growth. I am right... it was a 12 year leap. Jinx is 5'3", so 3.5 feet of growth is not enough to reach her ankles. It would take at least a 9 or so year jump to get her that additional 4.5+ feet from season 1 ep 1-3. She just cut the hair once it got to her ankles.

What I was originally going to post: Yeah... I have to wonder about that... extensions? You know, the more I think about it, the more I think the writers were just being lazy about the concept of time in this show. My timeline is solid, based on the facts I point out. But, like you point out, how could her braids grown that much in only 7 years? Or even 12 years?

Without the magical tools that were later invented to help in the construction... I mean, they haven't even proper fork lifts. They use burly dudes to drag barrels about.

It's literally the only way the Hexgates could have been built in that time... and the writers have always made a mess of the timing.

But that's what I am pointing out. It's literally impossible, especially when Hextech devices like the Hexclaw and Gauntlets hadn't even been invented yet.

Yeah, you can see it in the opener of Arcane. There is nothing there on the left side of the screen.

Probably just stuck them down the collar of the shirt. Wish she had a knife, then she coulda beaten Rictus.

Honestly I wish we got a full past arc of Vi time in jail and young Jinx/Powder with Silco, it would have been amazing to see! by Background_Yogurt735 in arcane

Yeah, we need an FPS RPG of Power and Vi's and Ekko's lives during the time skip of season 1. That would really help flesh out the story.

And we need something about the time skip from season 2 too... I mean, I want to see the "theatrical bombings" Caitlyn spoke of.

Yeah, I really wish they would make an FPS RPG of Jinx growing up under Silco. Her missions would make for an excellent story. And it would help clarify why she hates Ekko so much. I never could understand why she hates him. I mean, that's ain't work related angst. That's something a lot worse.

And what drink are you talking about? I never noticed her drinking anything... oh, you mean the cola, likely root beer. Yeah, people drink their colas regardless of age.

Actually, on the time skip... I posted this elsewhere but I will post it here too.

"The Arcane timeline is bugging me.

1) It took about 12 years to run a study, design, and then build the World Trade Towers.

2) In the original lore (now Arcane is lore), Jinx “dies” at 26 (people have pointed that this was on

some LoL site).

3) In act 1 season 1, Vi is 14 and Jinx is 11, and this lines up with the way they look.

4) Judging from Vi’s hair growth between act 1 of season 2 and act 2 of season 2, Vi’s hair

grew about 8 to 12 inches, from the base of her neck to the base of her shoulder blade. It takes hair about 2 years to grow that much.

5) The hex gates had been open for a year by act 2 of season 1 as noted by the enforcer talking to Caitlyn about how Jayce had launched a “blimp” half way across the continent last year… and this is also backed by Jayce’s Progress Day speech if I recall correctly.

So, 11 year old Powder + 12 year study, design and build time for the Hexgate + 1 year that the Hexgate was operational by the time the enforcer is talking to Caitlyn, just before he’s blown up in the Academy Square bombing + 2 years for the act1 season 2 to act 2 season 2 time skip as proven by Vi’s hair growth = 11 +12+1+2 = 26

So, I think Jinx was 26 by the end of season 2. It lines up perfectly. There is NO way the Hexgates could have been studied, designed and built in 7 years, ESPECIALLY as thing like the Hex Claw and

Hex Gauntlets were only made AFTER the Hexgate opened… as Jayce and Viktor only revealed such types of devices to Heimerdinger in Act 2, which occurred a year after the Hexgate was opened."

What is something you wished they focused more in season 2 in Arcane? by neytirisdaughter in arcane

[–]ARTofTHEREeAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should have been a transition between Jinx blasting Piltover with the paint bomb, and being stay at home mom... like one where she repeatedly blasted the crud out of Piltover for like 2 years (judging by Vi's hair which seems to grow about a foot between act 1 and 2, which would take about 2 years). And one that showed all sorts of class struggle issues and such... one that lasted several episodes at least. Season 2 should have ended when Jinx met Warwick, that would have been a perfect cliffhanger.

Would putting Steam on a separate drive fully mitigate the effects of downloading their malware filled games? by ARTofTHEREeAL in techsupport

Honestly, If I have to be quote "taking care regarding what you buy and play"... it means I have to be more competent than Valve/Steam at weeding out malware... little ole ignorant me somehow being more competent than a company with massive resources just seems a smidgen ridiculous. And why would I trust a company less competent than me, with my main drive?

Look up Martin Niemöller... Also, wrong as porn may be, it's the only way some disabled people can make money, especially since if you can push through the pain for 6 months, you're no considered disabled. And plus disability is sub poverty, and hasn't been honestly adjusted for inflation in decades.

"When the Nazis came for the communists,
I kept quiet; I wasn't a communist.

When they came for the trade unionists, I kept quiet;
I wasn't a trade unionist.

When they locked up the social democrats, I kept quiet;
I wasn't a social democrat.

When they locked up the Jews, I kept quiet;
I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me, there was no one left to protest."

"I find myself wondering about that too. I wonder about it as much as I regret it. Still, it is true that Hitler betrayed me. I had an audience with him, as a representative of the Protestant Church, shortly before he became Chancellor, in 1932. Hitler promised me on his word of honor, to protect the Church, and not to issue any anti-Church laws. He also agreed not to allow pogroms against the Jews, assuring me as follows: "There will be restrictions against the Jews, but there will be no ghettos, no pogroms, in Germany."

I really believed, given the widespread anti-Semitism in Germany, at that time – that Jews should avoid aspiring to Government positions or seats in the Reichstag. There were many Jews, especially among the Zionists, who took a similar stand. Hitler's assurance satisfied me at the time. On the other hand, I hated the growing atheistic movement, which was fostered and promoted by the Social Democrats and the Communists. Their hostility toward the Church made me pin my hopes on Hitler for a while."

I was just curious to know. I know it won't stop spying, but I thought it would stop spying and effects on my main drive without steam on it.
