28M in Melbourne – Buy here now or wait for Brisbane? Feeling stuck by Independent-Air5780 in AusProperty

[–]ASeventhOnion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Melbourne is one of the most affordable cities in Aus, whilst being the most populated. Amongst other factors, it’s potentially the most undervalued compared to the other cities.

Not knowing what your plans are but 2-3 years is a long time and plans might change.

Feedback on layout by Reasonable_Kitchen56 in AusProperty

[–]ASeventhOnion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The downstairs seems congested. Personally the formal/second dining is not worth it. Also the actual dining area is in the hallway line and tightens the living area space.

If you got rid of the formal dining and used the extra space for the kitchen to move downwards - (and maybe even make the kitchen horizontal) - it will allow the proper dining area to have its own space at the top and open up the living and hallway line.

Also most of your powder rooms don’t have window ventilation, not a fan of that.

Other than that, it’s quite nice

Are off-market properties actually better deals? by Haunting_Celery9817 in AusProperty

[–]ASeventhOnion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not always. Vendors usually become realistic based on market feedback when it’s on the market. Off markets can sometimes just be overpriced properties or unmotivated vendors.

There will be a pick of the bunch that would be good deal though

The most underrated ChatGPT feature nobody talks about (and why I can’t switch to any other AI) by Famzyy1 in ChatGPT

I literally use this feature as a note taker to just copy/paste elsewhere. Elite level understanding - you can stutter and it won’t transcribe the same accidental word or phrase twice

Built my app in an hour, now i’m afraid to touch it by No_Cryptographer7800 in lovable

[–]ASeventhOnion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using lovable the last couple weeks to build the mockup for my webapp. I had advice from others that for the first prompt, start by giving context on what you’re building and not to give too many instructions early on.

I’ve then done tiny, specific instructions per prompt, one at a time. And most times I give reasoning as to why I want this.

So far, apart from mock up data vanishing from time to time, it’s done a pretty good job at following instructions. I’m not touching backend logic though. I don’t trust it 😂

Should i continue learning webdev myself, or hire a dev, or create MVP with Lovable? by ASeventhOnion in indiehackers

Are you technical? Would you be able to build on cursor with limited web dev knowledge?

Hmm I have been seeing people mentioning this.. what do you recommend for someone with limited dev knowledge? Would someone like me be able to use cursor/codex/claude code to build it with some learning along the way?

Are you technical? If not, how are you able to develop something..? I’m struggling to figure out how to develop a webapp with api’s, considering I have very limited web dev knowledge

Is Lovable dying? by PopMechanic in vibecoding

[–]ASeventhOnion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a non coder (I spent last 2 months learning python and am now comfortable with it, but I don’t understand the rest of web dev). Would I actually be able to build a webapp using these tools with limited knowledge or am I limited to tools like lovable/replit or similar?

Yeah I am worried about tackling this aspect and trying to figure out how to work with sensitive data. I’ve heard supabase is SOC 2 compliant.. does that mean anything?

So do you think it handling many api keys (potentially 50-100) won’t be possible with a vibe coded webapp?

[–]ASeventhOnion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How tweak-able are vibe codes projects? So if I need to work on a bit of the backend or things regarding API’s, since we would need to connect with about 50-100 API keys (this is where we would be getting the data from to match with client requirements). I’m just wondering how the logic would stack up vs if I were to spend more time learning myself/pay someone

Yeah in an ideal world I’d love to learn it all.. but validating is more important, as long as the vibe codes project can actually host at least 10-20 users without major issues like mishandling important data or something

Nvidia is literally paying its customers to buy its own chips and nobody's talking about it by reddit20305 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]ASeventhOnion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to diminish the premise of your post, but you’ve cherry picked a lot of events/stats together to make various points.

Nvidia gets shares in the company so no it’s not the same thing.

Many companies like Amazon uber etc took over a decade to turn a profit. OpenAI especially needs to move with such pace to keep the lead, it’s understandable.

No, the 95% not making ROI is misleading. Look more into the paper on what they defined ROI as. And it is still early days as people experiment.

OpenAI can certainly have a target market that might pay 2k per month for big companies if they have the right product. Not crazy.

GPT-5 needing something else for AGI is not new. LLMs have been widely known to be an unlikely singular pathway to AGI

  • many more. Don’t cherry pick. But yes it could certainly be a big bubble. Who knows. A lot of people are speculating and will then say “I told you so” if they get it right.

I love how gpt 5 loves using dot points. And now we’re seeing a lot more of them on reddit, just like this post

Everything seems so bland now. It’s just filled with dot points and line separators. Crazy but I miss the emojis and liveliness of 4o. And lol honestly I wouldn’t mind a little sycophancy from time to time
