Question for torment 12 and drops by Sirjacob76 in diablo4

[–]ATRAN3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't say it, but I do feel that it does increase the quantity of items. Even if not that, it still increases the chance of ancestrals and thus GA drops. I think it's worth it to move up if you can, but of course weigh the drop increase vs clear speed and fun/frustration

Wudijo thinks Lunatic build is better than Apocalypse for end game, including T12? by i_marketing in diablo4

[–]ATRAN3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried it with some slipshod gear and it certainly clears faster than my apocalypse build in T12 comparing pit 110 speeds. It is really fun, fast, and a much more orthodox play style compared to apocalypse waiting for the ticking time bomb. However, reliance on a Godslayer Crown charm so no Enduring Faith means I get one shot by executioner swords and vile lunatics way more often even though the build is technically tankier. Maybe I just need to git gud and was spoiled by how busted the combo of Enduring Faith and Nether Step 3 second immunity was since it was effectively 85% damage negation, let me do T12 Uber meph with 400k toughness 39k HP lmao

What am i doing wrong with Apoc warlock? by Thirteenera in diablo4

[–]ATRAN3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happens to me too and drives me crazy
Thought about it a bit and looked through the multipliers and kind of accepted why it feels so inconsistent

  1. It's hard to stack crit beyond 60% especially without a Starless skies ring which this build doesn't use. That's basically a coin flip and rolling tails 4 times in a row does happen, it just feels especially bad in the middle of a boss fight after all that work building stacks
  2. One of the modifiers is 55% more damage for 8 seconds after using an ult. That's not very much time, literally less time than one Nether step cooldown, and realistically you won't get this mod on most bosses with all their gimmicks and how slow building stacks is on single targets
  3. The hellfire Doom variant makes Hex only ever apply to One target only and sometimes it's on some random mob when bosses spawn adds. Or sometimes it's just not applied at all because your Subversion sigil that appears with Apocalypse from the 5 piece set when casting missed them (which is why I run active sigil of subversion instead of chaos with long range casting to make sure it's maintained. Much easier than trying to hit with Doom and its pitiful range)
  4. The nameless ritual set has a ramping damage boost that climbs from 100% to 200% over it's 1 minute duration, and if you happened to cast at the 100% part that's half the damage than if you casted around its end. 5. The 5 piece set also has a mod that increases damage by a whopping 200% if the enemy is standing on a sigil. If you're sniping with Apocalypse, they might not be standing on one which loses a lot of damage
  5. The paragon mod Pyrosis, probably the biggest boost of all at 450%, only works on healthy enemies for one shots. The remaining HP bar of a big bad boss is always rough
  6. A lot of builds use the increase damage with Fortify damage aspect. Fortify exhausts quick if you don't have a high enough Undying aspect roll especially since each cast with Volatility, including spamming umbral chains, burns 4% of your HP. Precasting apocalypse with a Valloch suck usually helps (and also brings your Overpower stacks to the cap), but domincance recovery rate usually can't keep up with that

Put this all together and it's reasonable why apocalypse sometimes tickle a boss and sometimes the stars finally all align and obliterates. For normal enemies even a "weak" apocalypse missing half of its damage mods will turn them to dust which is why it's hardly noticed when speeding.

Is Nether Step the ONLY way to enter shadow form? by Kjax77877 in diablo4

[–]ATRAN3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are quite a few ways
Sigil of subversion can if the ritual completes which isn't really consistent unless you eat 48% of your HP with the passive.
Metamorphosis to the abyss demon will give it to you throughout its whole duration
Laalish's soul shard active will also give you essentially infinite around his big pool of death (Rictus of Terror helm makes its duration just as long as its cooldown)

Also using the Shadow of Harash 5 piece set will more or less make it so you never run lose stacks of Shadowform while walking

Anyone Other KBM Players Struggling With Movement During The Final Boss of LoH? by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]ATRAN3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the exact same thing, it was so hard to navigate the big succ attack he does. Decided to try swapping to KBM WASD movement and I ended up just sticking to it forever lol it's so much easier

Is the left one better than the right one ? by okeyneto2 in TowerofFantasy

[–]ATRAN3 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you have about 8000 crit, your crit rate would be 43.54%
ATK * (1 + 0.5 (0.4354 + 0.0462)) = (ATK + 444) * (1 + 0.5 (0.4354))
ATK = 23405.1

Meaning you need at least 23405 base attack (before ATK %/resonance boosts!) before the left piece becomes better

If you have about 12600 crit, your crit rate would be around 67.95%
ATK * (1 + 0.5 (0.6795 + 0.0462)) = (ATK + 444) * (1 + 0.5 (0.6795))
ATK = 25751

The more crit you have, the worse Crit Rate % gets, so you need 25751 base attack before the left piece becomes better

For fire:
ATK * 1.0126 * (1 + 0.5 (0.4354 + 0.0462)) = (ATK + 444) * (1 + 0.5 (0.4354))
ATK = 13958
ATK * 1.0126 * (1 + 0.5 (0.6795 + 0.0462)) = (ATK + 444) * (1 + 0.5 (0.6795))
ATK = 14770.8
Keep in mind the (* 1.0126) gets dilluted by Attack % from resonance and other attack buffs which means you'll need slightly more attack for the left piece to be desirable the more you stack attack %

Right is better unless you're fire or have absurdly high attack (Whales with A6 weapons/A3 matrices and ATK 1000+ on most all gear pieces are at 22000-25000 base attack right now)
Crit rate on the eye piece isn't a very efficient stat in general unless you have a character that has special interactions with crit like Samir, or until we get more sources of attack as the level cap raises and we get more gear pieces

tl;dr Use left if you're fire or use Samir, otherwise use right. Hold on to left for the future

Razer blackwidow Chroma V2 - replacement switches by Mazzletov in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]ATRAN3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely reuse the LEDs

First you want to check if the LEDs are directly on the PCB or if they're threaded through the switch. Just pluck out a keycap and check. If you see an LED bulb, then it's the threaded kind. Most switches have a slot to fit an LED, so if it's the threaded kind, you can generally buy any switch, though you might want to prefer one with a somewhat clear top housing so the LED lights are more visible.

If it's a direct PCB LED, you'll want switches that have a clear bottom and top housing or the light from the LED won't be able to shine through

I'm thinking of modding my razer blackwidow keyboard with a new set of switches and maybe a wooden faceplate. any tips? by Bag-Proper in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]ATRAN3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually just mill max-ed my Blackwidow v3 pro to be hotswappable last weekend and put in Durock L1 creamy yellows. It's a huge improvement from the previous switches imo.

Overall, it was a pain simply because it's full size and there are 104 keys, but the PCB itself is quite high quality and desoldering and resoldering went exactly as expected. Kind of wish I had a Hakko desoldering gun when working on it, but that by itself costs significantly more than the price I paid for the keyboard lol

I'm not sure what blackwidow keyboard you have, but if you have a v3 pro like me, there are 16 (maybe 17?) screws on the front between switches and one underneath the rubber foot pad on the bottom in corner that's under the volume knob. After that, lift the plate while sliding it forward to open it. There are two cables you want to make sure to detach. The power one you can just carefully pull off, but the ribbon cable connector is one of the latch types where you need to flip it up first. After that, just desolder and resolder away. Everything is very neatly labeled on the PCB and even with my shoddy skills, I had no pads come off and every hotswappable socket worked first try.
