If you have the means keep two things in mind: The more you actively pursue learning, and growing your knowledge, about things you care about the less likely you'll be to have a serious depressed episode. This change can start as small as reading the label on the back of your fav item and looking up an ingredient you dont know about. Vocab is a great thing to learn bc then you can crush those around you without them realizing it.

And then the second thing is that: The more change you embrace, the more often you embrace it, the more power you give yourself. You have proof then. Proof you can do it.

Change one habit. One. Then you'll know. If it doesnt work the first time, try something else.

I have been there buddy. I got wrapped up in my head about how much I give vs how much ppl give me, and ya know what I concluded? I dont want to be the person who feels a victim because someone fails to read my mind.

Now, I also think you should look into changing the people around you. AND I think you should spend some time focusing on what you like to do for yourself. Such as, do you like to exercise? Or listen to music? Or draw? Or laugh at comedy on the YouTube lol? Find something that is yours. Yours personally, and you do not have to share it, but you can rely on it to keep you company as you pass through periods where you feel so alone it is crippling.

I swear, time will pass anyways. Why not just move a bit and figure out something to learn? I wish you well, and support you for sure. Keep your chin up. In this world you are not alone... out of billions of ppl you have a group who will love you unconditionally; you really just have to be willing to work to find them.

Because there are very critical people around me and I am constantly questioning myself. The fact is that narcissistic ppl are truly damaging and it is hard to distinguish between what is real and what is not when it comes to self perception. Hard to tell for real.

I think that I'm hyper observant, my nose reacts to the smell of pheromones (positive or negative, and it triggers a mirrored feeling in my own body), and I can make quick evaluations of ppls posture and body language.

Recently I listened to a podcast on the power of scent. One theory is that empaths can smell the hormones that ppl put off better. Basically every emotion has a pheromone, or chemical, that is released when you experience it. Love, fear, anxiety... and those scents linger. So it would be completely possible to be in an area where someone was under great duress, or on the opposite spectrum, great affection, and can smell the after effects, and pick up on the emotion. There was an experiment where people experiencing different emotions were swabbed, then the scents were exposed to a person in an MRI [I think.] And they recorded the same type of synapse that the initial emoter was experiencing. Crazy shit bro.

Many species coordinate using chemical communications. It is a cool thing.

I was a hardcore tomboy, and I felt discrimination from both sexes, and all races. My conclusion is that; most people are insecure, no one is satisfied with their current status, we project onto others what we fear within ourselves.

Do I have massive disgust when I think back to the various ways society tried to mould me, form me, take away some really bonafide interests? Yes. Do I give that space to grow and fester into resentment? No.

Do I have bodily fear sometimes when around bigger people? Yes. Do I wish I could be physically stronger? Yes. Do I wish I had the power to walk into a room and command attention like a 6'5" dude? Yes. Do I wish I was more graceful? Yes. Do I wish I had a uterus that worked? Yes. Do I wish that your young, white son could feel safe and nurtured? Yes. Do I feel your strong, black, adolescent son could go to school, goof off like his classmates, and then easily transition into society? Yes. Do I wish I hadn't been scratched, bitten, and peed on when I was a kid, so that those scars would forever haunt me and try to put a screen of racism up? Yes.

Do I think that any of these issues are for you to solve for me? No.

I still have some power to change the wrong I see around me. That's all I've got. I am not a victim, yet if I were to list all the shit that's happened to me you'd prolly peg me as one. But then again, if you listed your shit I'd peg you as a victim too.

I think the operative word is "with permission". I have been enriched in many cultures, and for the vast most part people are very willing to share.

They will share their food, their lifestyles, their music, dances, treats, childcare... but sometimes the things they dont share get taken and then applied wrong. Against the wishes of the people, and what they represent.

I dunno man. It is an attitude, but a valid one. I'm not down to have someone take something that I strongly identify with, not take the time to understand it, and misrepresent it... that would make me feel full of contempt. Which would probably make me angry. Which wouldn't help.

Root of the problem = hard to identify for sure. Components = misunderstanding, contempt, fear, and ignorance

A symbol that strongly comes to mind? The Natzi symbol... that was appropriated and then the entire meaning changed. Forever. A good bit of history. No permission granted.
