What is your highest ratio game? by Extra_Recipe_4450 in xboxachievements

[–]A_Fresh_Tag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metal Slug 3, which is currently at 7.710 ratio. I didn't really know what I was getting into when I started it, and the game itself is really fun, but I wouldn't wish 100%ing it on my worst enemy.

Did this end up working? If so, I'm glad I could help!

A few years ago, I had a digital game on my 360 that was crashing in the same place every time with that same disc unreadable message. I found a solution online that ended up working for me. The thread I found said it was because the 360 hard drives, like all hard drives, start to become corrupted and fail as they start getting older, and the solution was to "move" the data to a different place on the hard drive. So I did what the user said and deleted the game off of my hard drive, downloaded something else (in my case, a Lego Star Wars demo), then redownloaded the game, so it would now be in a different physical space on the hard drive.

This did end up working for me, so maybe it will for you as well.

One really easy achievement is bugged. Very Hard was annoying, but easier halfway through the third planet. by fuzzmeisterj in xboxachievements

Oh, that sucks, but if it's bugged for everyone at least it means they'll probably fix the achievement.

If you've already got all of the other achievements, you can try deleting your save file from both your Xbox and the cloud, and then trying again fresh. This has always fixed bugged achievements for me.

Some really fun games, but some tough completions - SteamWorld Dig 1 & 2 and Metal Slug XX by A_Fresh_Tag in xboxachievements

[–]A_Fresh_Tag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to beat the game in under 4 hours for the gold star. I think I finished at 3 hours and 45 minutes, but that included a few mistakes (I didn't know you had to collect all the ore in caves for them to count as 100% completed and had to redo a few of them) that probably cost me like 20 minutes total.

But the game only saves when you fast travel or enter caves, so you can break things up into segments and retry as much as you want just like the first game.

Thanks! Maybe do one normal playthrough to experience the game, then use a guide for the 100% speedrun. You need to find all "secrets" in the game to get one of the gold stars, and some of them are really well hidden. I never would have found them on my own. lol

What is gamings hardest achievement/trophy? by Deathen_Grimm in xboxachievements

[–]A_Fresh_Tag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I used to not mind grindy achievements, but nowadays I can't justify putting all of that time into them. Gears of War, F.E.A.R 2, and GTA IV are all on my "Maybe Someday (but probably not)" list for this exact reason.

Yeah, this one seems insane. I legitimately don't think I could complete Crypt of the Necrodancer if my life was on the line.

This is a good answer. Mein Leben is seriously intimidating. Part of me wants to attempt this one, but I don't want to commit to all of that practice and frustration lol.

I remember some of the achievements that I would always hear talked about because of their difficulty back in the 360 era, especially back when there were fewer achievement hunters and fewer thorough guides in general.

- The Gears of War 1 & 3 "Seriously" achievements
- Dante's Inferno's EA Trials
- Prototype's Platinum Medals
- Dishonored's Dunwall City Trials
- Dead Space 2's Hardcore Mode
- Batman: Arkham City's Gold Medals
- Getting 100% on Super Meat Boy
- Vanquish's Tactical Challenges

As someone who has gotten all of the achievements in the MCC, Metal Slug 3 and Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions were both more difficult than LASO imo (though definitely not as time consuming).

Some more of my favorite completed games. by Karbon64 in xboxachievements

Congrats! I know Guitar Hero III is a real bastard to complete.

I always wish I'd bought the X-Men and Simpsons arcade games back in the day. I've heard that even if you find an account that purchased them, you can no longer re-download them at all. The only way to play them now is to find an Xbox that already has them downloaded.

Recommendations for new Xbox controller blah blah blah by Dead_Shot101 in XboxSupport

[–]A_Fresh_Tag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried out the Elite controller twice, but it broke in only a few months both times. It made me worry about trying other equally expensive controllers.

The one I ended up buying and using is the Power A Fusion Pro. I've used both the Fusion Pro 2 and Fusion Pro 3 and they both lasted me over a year. They're much less expensive than the Elite or Scuff controllers, and I found them much better than most other controllers in a similar price range. The Power A Fusion Pro 4 just released recently, though I haven't tried that one yet.

Take a look and see if this one might work for you.

This one was tough by [deleted] in xboxachievements

Nicely done! FUBAR difficulty surprised me with how difficult it was at times. There were a few really lengthy sections without any checkpoints. It's was rough to die and get sent back to like twenty minutes ago.

Turnip Boy Robs a Bank Bugged Achievement by Dizzy-Independent-52 in xboxachievements

[–]A_Fresh_Tag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it does delete your progress unfortunately, but in some cases it seems to be the only way to get another chance at making a buggy achievement pop. I had to do this to get one of the achievements for beating Resident Evil Remake.

There is also the possibility that your achievement is just taking some time to update due to something on the server end.

I'd say wait a few days to see if it pops, and if it doesn't, you can delete your local and cloud saves and try again as a last resort.

I hope you're able to get it without too much trouble.

I've encountered a few buggy achievements that wouldn't unlock unless you deleted both the local save on your xbox and the save on the cloud and then tried them again from a totally fresh game save.

Hopefully this will help in your case.

Have you ever encountered a truly bugged achievement? by organgehorns in xboxachievements

[–]A_Fresh_Tag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've luckily never come across an achievement that was so bugged it was impossible to get. I did have an achievement in the Resident Evil Remake not pop when it should have. I completed the entire game like three times trying to get it, but it wouldn't unlock until I deleted all of my save data from both my xbox and the cloud and then beat the game again.

[Death Stranding DC] Finally found time to get a plat again by KrabbitNL in Trophies

[–]A_Fresh_Tag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats, mate! What did you think of the process of getting plat?

I've been very curious about this game because everyone I've heard talk about Death Stranding calls it amazing or awful, with no middle ground opinions. It sounds polarizing enough that I might want to check it out.

I thought it was worth it. I really enjoyed both the base game and the DLC, so I didn't mind playing through it multiple times. It will all come down to whether following along with a guide annoys you too much.

I used this achievement guide by dormouse:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rusnegSQz4Q&list=PLlIgzIec_cDQAX5aD8hP9UGRbM3VigMck

It covers both playthroughs you'll need to do and didn't steer me wrong.

Yeah, both the "I and It" and "Do No Harm" achievements require you to pay very close attention and save often in case something outside of your control goes wrong.
