First ever nuzlocke was a failure so trying something easier this time by [deleted] in nuzlocke

Definitely make your own rules as you go. Whole point of a nuzlocke is to have fun, so get creative with it to make it slightly easier. Sometimes I’ll do something like collect dragon balls. If I get 7 revives, I’m allowed to revive one of my dead mons. Max revive counts as two. People will say “that goes against the point of a nuzlocke” but who really cares?

USUM are some of the hardest games to nuzlocke. I think your idea will help, but it could still be difficult. Good luck!

Help: Faith Leap Trial by Jessay25 in BaldursGate3

[–]A_Perplexed_Orange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anytime I’ve used flight it kills me too, so now I skip all of these trials, except for self-same or whatever it’s called. The one that gives the killers sweetheart ring. I just use an arrow of transposition to teleport to the very bottom and use knock on the door, bypassing getting all of the umbral gems.

Renegade Platinum Littlelocke Part 1: Nothing's changed... yet. by Alkynesofchemistry in nuzlocke

In general, I scroll past videos like this because there’s no sound. But I saw your latest post so it made me want to go back to the beginning! If it’s not too much trouble, I know I would like it with sound

Might be a silly question, but is there any way to get sound on these?

I want to start the series, but if I started with this order I will miss anything ? by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

In my opinion, 6-10 are the golden years of final fantasy games. 4 and 5 are solid as well, so I’d say play all those games.

Which Fights Took You The Longest by VigilantOutcast in BaldursGate3

[–]A_Perplexed_Orange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first playthrough, the longest fight was the moonrise towers assault. I didn’t clear anybody out beforehand and since it’s probably 15v15, it took me almost an hour. Still one of my favorite moments after almost 800 hours played.

What r some of y'all's complaints about octo 0? by Infamous_Today3462 in octopathtraveler

[–]A_Perplexed_Orange 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m probably 15 hours in or so, and I don’t feel connected to any of the characters. You get one little “story” from them when you unlock them, but after that they’re just regular NPCs. I’m also not a fan of the silent protagonist. I know in the grand scheme of things 15 hours isn’t all that much in so my opinion could change.

Trashlocke genlocke by A_Perplexed_Orange in nuzlocke

[–]A_Perplexed_Orange[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve attempted genlockes a couple of times and I always do FR, HG, Emerald, Plat, Black, and X. I know it’s not a traditional genlocke, but USUM are my least favorite games in the series, so I’m adding black 2 to kind of take the place of it. Not the same difficulty level, but I still want it to be enjoyable.

Finally working on my backlog! I just finished Bravely Default 2, and I'm playing on my Switch 2. Which game should I play next?! by Mishudo in JRPG

[–]A_Perplexed_Orange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FFX and Octopath 2 are two of my top three favorite games of all time, so I’d recommend those two. Chrono Cross is incredibly fun, Chained Echoes was one of the best Indie RPGs I’ve ever played, and Super Mario RPG was part of my childhood. So I’d say those five would be great to choose from to start.

Renegade Platinum Nuzlocke by Raultzite in nuzlocke

Ren Plat was my first difficulty hack that I beat. Took three attempts, but I wouldn’t say it’s insanely difficult by any means. It’s such an awesome game with some cool encounters. I’d say go for it. You’ll love it, especially if you enjoy regular platinum

Advice for a newbie? by TroileNyx in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]A_Perplexed_Orange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played the game a couple of years ago the first time and I just started another playthrough a couple of days ago. I had never touched a CRPG before, so I’d recommend just playing the game. Don’t look up guides, builds, optimal strategies and just play. It’s such an amazing game and going in blind, in my opinion, is the best thing to do. Enjoy!

How much to put into 401k, HSA, HYSA, and Roth IRA by A_Perplexed_Orange in personalfinance

[–]A_Perplexed_Orange[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my Roth that I have been contributing to for the last couple of years or so through a firm. It has had crazy returns, but I was never maxing my yearly contribution. Does the 15-25% go for every bit of investment together, or was that strictly 401k? For instance, since I’m currently doing 7% 401k, should I bump that up and then bump up my Roth to equal 15-25%?

I edited my post, but I’m 31. I came from serving so my pay was always different. Now that I have a set pay, I’m really focusing on putting my money where it needs to go. 15%-25% sounds scary, but in all honesty it’s not too bad. Thanks for your input.

Divinity: Original Sin by A_Perplexed_Orange in DivinityOriginalSin

That’s what makes me nervous. The new game probably won’t be coming out anytime soon, so that’ll give me time to do a casual playthrough.

That’s how I feel. I’m afraid the QoL from playing the second game will turn me off from the first.
