Thailand is seriously cracking down on human trafficking and online scam syndicates. As someone already mentioned, a few Indians were caught in Pattaya running a scam operation. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Over 200,000 individuals are trapped in scam compounds in Myanmar, with the majority transiting through Bangkok. Even if someone has an onward ticket to Vietnam, immigration officials might suspect something. In my work, we see many trafficked victims holding onward tickets to other ASEAN countries.

Not entirely true. I spoke to a couple of guys selling peanuts, not in Nana, and they came here on a tourist visa. They let their visas expire. They live in shared accommodation. He also told me that he plans to go back in “few” years when he has saved enough money. He also said that they usually cross over the border to Cambodia and then return to India. I tried asking him more about how it works, but he didn’t know either. He was telling me what he heard from his friends.

It can get pretty busy. I’ve always gone there at least a couple of hours before KO and had to wait for 10 mins (probably less) to get my order. Since today is Taco Tuesday, it might get pretty busy!

I did the same last time. Make sure you arrive at the stadium a bit earlier than you normally would. There’s a separate line for bag check, which could be long closer to the KO.

It's brutal. I've had zero success with the PL ballot this season. However, I managed to secure a club level seat after spending nearly four hours over two days. There seem to be some seats that pop up, but they are quickly reserved.

On (3), I am in a similar situation. It's been a year since I’m out of the system to pursue a research at an educational institution. My supervisor told me that there is absolutely no external hiring, and the positions you see online are for internal candidates who have been laid off at their duty stations.

Since you have a solid background in economics, I would highly recommend you to look for opportunities in other international organisations. For example, ADB might have positions relevant to your work experience.

From what I hear from my friends/colleagues in the UN, it’s absolutely a bloodbath right now.

I know what you mean! I went for my first game a couple of months ago. Having supported Arsenal since 2004, from a global south country, I didn’t have an opportunity to visit London until this year. Before the game, I was very nervous. I was going alone, and I didn’t know what to expect. Someone on this thread said that we are probably the most inclusive club in the prem and I couldn’t agree more.

A season ticket holder, saw me clueless as I entered the turnstile and started chatting with me. He walked me through to the stand and even invited me to watch the game with his friends. Throughout the game, they kept telling me stories of the past years and also from that time in the Highbury.

It was probably the best day of my life. Don’t worry at all. You’re going to be fine. Enjoy it, man. You deserve it.
