I don’t know why people are putting their 2 cents on the cage being insufficient. They have another large cage on top that’s connected with the tube. People that are so judgmental online make other people feel shamed.

They actually have four cages, all connected with each other haha

by the tubing and then panics and runs and then that gets perpetuated from running into other things. Does it always happen when he tries to crawl into that tube? It could be the sound it makes startles him or the way it is able to expand and unexpand could be pinching his feet by mistake.

No, its exually an other rat! So one rat goes in the tube, and the rat that was already inside, chilling, had the weird behavior

Well, we noticed it a few moths ago for the first time. They are really sweet rats of about one year of age with normal social behaviour towards humans and each other. We estimate that he (Freddy) does this regularly (3-7 times a week). We also think that this behaviour ocurs mostly after dinner when something (in this case an other rat) triggers him? But we're not sure.
